She pulled out of the driveway and drove down East 9th Avenue. Everyone was silent all the way there. When they got to the house she saw Gram and Gramps run out of the house. The kids got out of the car and ran and hugged them. Everybody was silent, Grams knew she had to take care of the kids. It was and instinct. Ivory proceeded to explain about how she was going to live by herself. Grams didn't want her too but she knew it was for the best.

After Ivory said a very emotional goodbye, she took her mom's car and drove around trying to think of where she could live. She knew none of her friends would ever let her stay. Especially if they knew what she did to Towers.

She decided she could just live in the car, it was just her after all. She drove to the nearest gas station to get food and gas for the car. She put up her hood and got four weeks worth of granola bars, dried fruit and water. She went to the nearest Walmart parking lot and park in the back, she ate one package of fruit and had one bottle of water. She knew rationing was important but she was fucking hungry. She then drove to the nearest Walmart, open 24 hours!

"What to do, I can't sleep because it's almost morning and people will be coming soon." She talked to herself all the time. She sat in the car for ten minutes trying to think of what to do, she didn't have her drivers license, she only had a permit, so driving wasn't the best option. She could get a job, it was rather a risk, her description could be in the paper or something. She decided it was a small chance and went in. There was almost no one in the store. She had roamed in Walmart for hours on end, leaving home to think to herself, she had a developed a good friend ship with Brittney. Brittney was the greeter from midnight to 6. She noticed that she sees Ivory almost weekly so she decided to talk to her and over time became friends. The first thing she did was see Brittney with her bright perky smile on her face, she wasn't gonna lie, she loved Brittney, she was cute, perky and funny. She could make you smile even when you wanted to kill yourself, that's how great she was. She walked up to her and hugged her.

Ivory's POV

"Hey, hon, what's up?" Brittney said hugging her back.

"I'm looking for a job and I thought I could work here with you!" I said faking a smile.

"Really?!"

"Yes, my mother has...passed and I need to help my family."

"Oh, honey!" she said hugging me again.

"Yea, I'm fine..I just need to help Shaun keep the apartment, and help with food, and pay bills-" I was cut off by my own tears. There was no way we are even to keep the apartment, let alone pay bills or for anything. Brittney hugged me again and tried to calm me down.

"Where are your siblings right now?" Brittney said.

"They are at Gram and Gramps. I told them they needed to stay there for awhile, until things settle down, I just..I don't know what to do."

"Follow me." She told me.

Brittney then led me back to the break room. She walked over to a set of lockers and opened one with her name on it. She took out a small box and handed me a bracelet with my initials on it.

"What is this?" I ask.

"It's a bracelet, I got it for you from that jewelry store at the mall you like, I remember you talking about it for your birthday one year and, yeah, I just got it." She was blushing crazily, which to be honest was pretty adorable.

"Well, thank you, that's really nice of you. You know you didn't have to do this."

"Yea, I know I just felt like it." She had a disappointed look on her face.

"Why are you upset?" She was getting really nervous, making me nervous as well.

"I need to tell you something, now, please don't laugh. She mumbled.

"I promise I won't."

"Okay, well..um, I'm gonna say this fast. I now you may not think the same way but to be honest I've always liked you and found you extremely attractive! There I said it." She looked relieved but extraordinarily embarrassed.

"And this is a bad thing?" I said, mocking her.

"Well..no, I don't know. I just had to tell you, no secrets are kept from friends."

"I'm fine with it but, I'm sorry I just don't like you the same way, but you are now my best friend, no one could replace you." I said as I hugged her, then we left, me to get a job, and for her to do her's.
