"Ah, mister Nickolaus. Who is this?" Mr. Finman asked.
"This is Kid. New student." Nick replied
Kid? What kind of awful name is that?"
"Mine!" Kid retorted in defiance.
"Oh... Well... Welcome." Mr. Finman stuttered in reply.
"Ugh." Kid moaned as they walked in.
"Yo, Nick! Who's the new chick?" A scrawny, tall, brown-haired guy asked, leaning against the wall.
"This new chick has a name, shitface."
"Hey, hey, I'm just playin'. You the girl who showed old Earthbag?"
"Yeah." Kid's face turned from a scowl to a slight grin.
"That's sick!" He nodded, then smiled. "The name's Michael, but my friends call me Mike. What's your name, boss?"
"My name's Kid, and if I hear any shit about it, they'll be getting worse than Earthbag did." Kid and Mike shook hands. "Good to meet a friendly face for once."
"Yeah, it is. You get in the right crews, you'll meet a lot of 'em. Like Nick here." Mike pointed towards him. "He's a good guy, although he gets in a lot of trouble."
"Hey, Nicky!" A scantily dressed young woman called from the other side of the room. "Where were you on Friday night?"
Nick sighed, rolling his eyes at Mike and Kid before turning to her and responding. "I told you, Taylor, it's over. Go find someone else to bother."
"Oh really?....You're leaving me for her?!? " She gasped, pointing a finger at Kid.
"So what if he is?" Kid said, stepping in front of Nick and crossing her arms. "Anyone who has more common sense than you- and more brains- has to be a better choice."
"Oooooooooooooooooh!" The others called out. Excluding Mike and Nick. They were too busy staring at Kid to say anything.
"Ha! You look like you've never seen a naked man in your life!" Taylor shouted, her voice becoming hoarse.
"And you look like you've seen to many of them! No wonder you talk so funny!"
The others called out again, Mike joining in this time. that made Taylor sit down with a 'humph'.
Nick continued to stare at Kid, stunned. "What.... Why did you do that? You don't even know me."
Kid turned to him and smirked. "No random person would have helped me, unless they wanted something from me.... Or they had good intentions."
