Lockwood's POV

I watched the postman walk out of our garden and lock the gate. As soon as he was gone I sprang up off my chair and ran to collect the mail.

I was waiting for my new set of true hauntings to arrive but I found something even more interesting.
We had been invited to another fittes party, this time it was a valentines party!

I read further down the letter and my excitement was gone as soon as it had come.

It was compulsory to bring a date.

I have no one to go with! I would ask Luce but I know she would never ever feel for me in that way. Or go to a valentines party either for that matter.

Worst of all the letter had arrived late and the party was in two days!

"Lucy! George! I have something to show you!" I shouted upstairs.

A few moments later soft, padded footsteps could be heard from the stairs followed by loud, thumping ones. Presumably from George.

"You screamed?" Lucy said sarcastically. Without words I handed them her the letter and George read over her shoulder.

"Well I'm not going!" George declared.

"Why?" I asked.

"I hate all that lovey, dovey stuff, plus how am I supposed to find a date?" He replied.

I shrugged, "Fair enough,"

Lucy finished reading and looked up at us. "Well I don't think I'm going either. I have no date and no interest in going." She stated with a small hint of disappointment in her voice.

"I get the hint and I'm flattered Lucy, but I am still not going." George said.

Lucy scoffed, "As if, I'd rather go with the skull in the jar than you!" She retorted.

I had to stop them before this got into another one of their arguments. Let's just say Lucy has good aim when throwing pots and pans at people's heads...

I cleared my throat, "Um actually Lucy... I wanted to know...if-if you would maybe go with me to the party?"

Her mouth opened slightly in shock then she composed herself again. "Of course I will Lockwood, and don't look so scared, I don't bite!" She grinned.

She turned and walked upstairs, to find something suitable for the party I assumed. "Yeah but you do throw pots and pans..." I muttered under my breath.

"I heard that!" She yelled from upstairs. "I think your forgetting that I have an excellent hearing talent!"

~time skip to before the party~

14th February 2016 (fittes party)

I rented out a tuxedo and I decided to wear it tonight. I stood at the bottom of the stairs waiting on Lucy to finish getting ready.

I planned on making tonight change Lucy's opinion about valentines party's.
I was gonna make this a night to remember!

Lucy came walking down the stairs in a stunning red dress with diamonds and lace around it. It came to her knees. She had black leggings on and her usual combat boots. (I laughed at the thought of Lucy trying to stand up in heels. She probably tried some on but then had given up and stuck with her boots.)

From the looks of it Lucy had only brushed her hair and maybe slightly straightened it. It was still in its normal place, just about skimming her shoulders.

She snapped her fingers in front of my face. "Earth to Lockwood?

I forced words to come out of my mouth and the best I could come up with was, "wow...you...wow."

She laughed and put her finger under my chin and closed my mouth I didn't realise was open.

"Are we ready to go?" She asked me.

I nodded and opened the door, then we Calle a taxi and drive to the fittes building.

We could hear the music blaring from two blocks away and when we pulled up outside we were almost blinded by all the disco lights.

Lucy took my hand and led me through the crowd, when we bumped into the very person we were avoiding.

"Quill Kipps," I spat.

"Hey Tony, didn't know you guys were invited. Usually it's only the best agencies in London..." Kipps replied. I flinched when he called me Tony a bit, but then decided that the point of being here was to have fun with Lucy, not argue with idiots.

"Which is why we're here!" Lucy replied grinning, "We don't have time to argue so goodbye!" Then she pushed him aside and we walked off.

At midnight there was supposed to be fireworks and I had a plan all thought out in my head already.

It was one minute till midnight so I had to put my plan into action now or never.

Right now we were sitting on a blanket  in the picnic area waiting to see the fireworks.

I pulled out my phone quickly putting it on camera, I then asked I nearby couple who were sitting behind us (when Lucy's back was turned)
If they could take a picture of us as soon as the clock struck midnight.

DING DONG DING DONG

That was my cue. The sky was lit up

"Hey Luce?"

"Yea?"

"I love you."

Then I leaned in and kissed her on the lips. She wrapped her arms around my neck and I put my hands on her waist.

It was the perfect moment.

I heard the couple snap a picture of us ad when i pulled away I showed Lucy it and she smiled widely.

Only our kissing silhouettes could be seen against the display of light in front of us.

(See picture above)

"I love you too Lockwood." She replied then I leaned in and kissed her again.
