Lucewood one-shots

The new pool

Lucy's POV

It was in the middle of summer and we were having a heatwave. Only yesterday had we gotten our new pool installed in our backyard and today we were gonna go swimming in it!

I searched for a swimsuit and the only one that I could find was a blue bikini. I desperately looked for another one, anyone but this one! I sighed in defeat when I couldn't find a different one and then I reluctantly put it on.

I put on my flip flops and then my sunglasses, I then made my way down stairs and into the backyard. I sat on the edge of the pool dipping my toes in the water when I was interrupted by loud footsteps thundering down the hall.

I scrambled up on to my feet just as Lockwood burst outside and did a massive cannonball into the pool creating a tremendous splash. I got out of the way just in time as the spot that I was standing in moments before got drenched in water.

I laughed and then ran to sit back down on the side of the pool. I watched as Lockwood emerged from the water and rested his arms on the concrete beside me. He shook his hair, soaking me with the water from it.

"Common' in Luce!" He said, grinning like a child outside their favourite toy shop. "No thanks, I'll sit here for a while." I replied setting my sunglasses on my head.

Lockwood climbed out from the pool and sat on the towel beside me, he grabbed another towel and dried his hair off, then he put it around his shoulders. I only now noticed that Lockwood was shirtless and may I just say he looked very handsome.

I shook the thought from my mind as Lockwood stood up and did another huge cannonball in. This time I was too slow so I got splashed. I dried myself off and watched in amusement as Lockwood pretended to be a shark in the pool.

He swam under my feet and grabbed my ankles in a desperate attempt to pull me in. I started kicking wildly and must've kicked him in the face because he climbed out of the pool clutching a bloody nose. He ran into the house cupping his nose and yelling for George.

"Oops! Sorry!" I yelled behind me. He would be fine! He fought killer ghosts on a daily basis I'm sure he could handle a tiny little nose bleed.

I lay back on my towel and put my arms behind my head. I shut my eyes and relaxed.

I was soon interrupted when I felt someone grab my arms and someone grab my feet. I opened my eyes widely and saw George holding my legs and Lockwood holding my arms. I knew exactly what they were doing, those idiots would pay for this!

They stood side wards and swung me. "1..." They said at the same time. "2..." They started swinging me faster despite all my struggles. "3!!!!" They exclaimed, then they let go of my arms and legs and threw me into the pool.

As I went underwater I heard them laughing up above so I decided to scare them.

I held my breath for a long time and stayed underwater until they stopped laughing. I opened my eyes and saw Lockwood dive under. He grabbed me by the waist and pulled me out of the water, then he laid me on the poolside.

I kept my eyes shut and breathed through my nose. Lockwood was on his hands and knees beside me, on the side closest to the water. He turned his back to grab another towel so I opened my eyes and made eye contact with George. I winked at him and saw him try to stifle a laugh. I shut my eyes again as Lockwood turned back around.

"Lucy! Are you ok?!" He yelled in worry. I sat up quickly and pushed with all of my might. Lockwood fell sidewards into the pool but he grabbed my arm and pulled me in with him, then I grabbed George's leg and pulled him in too.

We landed in the water with a splash and when we came up we burst into a fit of laughter. We swam about for a bit then I had a brilliant idea! I climbed out of the pool and ran into the house, I grabbed the skull in the jar and took him outside with me.

I found a small float just his size and put him in it, then I set my sunglasses on top of the jar. He made a ace of pure disgust. "One day you will pay for this stupid mortals!" He bellowed, us three only burst out into another fit of laughter as we floated him around in the water despite his protests that only I could hear.

I went upside down and did a handstand, then Lockwood and George copied and failed miserably. When George finally decided to go in an get us some poolside snacks, Lockwood and I were left alone.

"Hey Lockwood?" I asked, as we floated about on our backs in the water. "Yeah?" He replied, turning his head to face me.

'It's now or never' I thought to myself. "I really like you." I blurted out like a fool. 'Great job Lucy! You just ruined your friendship with Lockwood!' I thought, mentally slapping myself.

He visibly froze. His face turned red and he turned his head to look at the sky. "Sorry I shouldn't of-" I was cut off by Lockwood's lips crashing against mine. At first I didn't respond but then I began to kiss back.

The kiss was perfect. It was everything I'd ever imagined for my first kiss. (And yes this was my first kiss)

We were interrupted by the clatter of metal. We pulled apart and I looked up to see George with a shocked look on his face and the tray of food lying on the floor.

"I leave you two alone for five minutes..." He muttered picking up the food tray. Lockwood and I just burst out laughing again.

George made more snacks and we climbed out of the pool to eat them. Lockwood and I are officially a couple now! George may act like he hates it but we know he was totally fangirling in his room that night.

I glanced at the skull in the jar, who we had left in the pool. He was making kissy faces at us. "If you don't stop it I'll leave you out here." I warned him. He immediately stopped it.

After snacks we jumped back into the pool and messed about for ages before finally going inside and falling asleep on the living room floor. I lay snuggled up close to Lockwood and he had his arm around my waist. George lay on the sofa because we were all too tired to bother going upstairs.

I hope we get to go into the pool tomorrow again because that was awesome!!!!!!!
