From light faded black as we entered the hot gym, colourful lights flashed and the hosts lined up on stage.
I sat on a chair next to Indigo, who held my hand in the dark.
"Welcome to this years talent show!" The shortest girl called, the microphone echoing through gym, causing my ears to dive into a pool of pain.
The taller girl spoke this time, her tone uninterested yet somehow enthusiastic to be host...
"- This year, our judges will be-"
"Mr Drakesby, Miss Laine-" the first boy said softly, looking over to the final host.
"-Tyler Bigs from Year 10 and Garfield Winfrey from Year 12!"
The crowd cheered as soon as The a students were mentioned, excited for the show to come.
The short girl took the reins again, "we're your hosts for today, I'm Bella."
"Jaclyn"
"Keith"
"Sam"
"We hope you enjoy!" They say in unison, their voices, like the crowd on the edge of their seats.
Sam steps forward, mic closing in on his mouth, "First up we have year 9s, Rose, Kai and Lainey! They will be performing a dance routine!"

Performance after performance went by, the judges judging and the students cheering.
My head rested on Indigo's shoulder and my heart aflutter...But my butterfly heart didn't fly for long, it came to a halt as the final act was called up...
Bella had control once again, the school at her fingertips and jaws dropped low as she read the final name from the paper. "Singing will be...Tyson from year 10..."
The crowd was over come with excited, girls fawning and exes grumpy with rage, I myself was flustered.
Indigo laughed to himself, the thought of Tyson singing was quite amusing...
My heart flipped as Tyson appeared on stage, but a python had captured my heart when he said this; "I'd like to dedicate this song to somebody special...Dianass...These are my last words to you..." He picked me out of the crowd and winked, my face feuded with embarrassment and heart squeezed almost to nothing...
Suddenly, an all too familiar tune played...
He...This is playing dirty!
I still hear your voice when you sleep next to me...
This isn't fair!
My heart tugged from different directions...I chose Indigo...You can't...
