'Can u giv me a ride? im outside the pizza shop on Elemory.'

I place my phone in my pocket and sigh. Normally when someone asks me that, I roll my eyes and grab my keys.

But this time, I was hesitant.

Because the text was from Brayden.

And I am not a person that gives third chances to cheating ex boyfriends.

Why me? I think.

Why not Ella.

She sure as hell wouldn't mind.

But it's raining and thundering and the pizza shop closes at 9.

It's 9:06. The pizza shop doesn't have an outside cover. He's standing in the rain.

I clench my jaw and grab my keys.

'You're gonna regret this' I tell myself.

'Be there in 5' I type, hitting send hard with my thumb and throwing my phone onto my lap.

*~*~*~*~*

I see a dark figure through the grey rain and pull over, clenching my jaw.

Rolling down the window I yell "Hurry up, I've got plans later."

I don't really have plans. But I forgot to record all of the That's So Ravens that come on at twelve. But this shouldn't take that long.

Brayden squints into the car before slowly opening the door and getting in.

I can't stand looking at him; so I turn away.

"What are you doing here?" He asks hesitantly.

I unclench my jaw and clench it again.

"What do you mean? You said you needed a ride."

"Yeah, but...how'd you know I was here?" He asks, seeming weirded out.

Is he seriously trying to make me seem like the one out of place? He's in my car. He texted me.

"You fucking texted me! What do you mean how did I know?" I fuss.

"I texted Kevin."

"You texted me jackass."

"Hey," He says hesitantly, "Are you mad at me or something?"

I snap my eyes off the window and turn to him.

"Are you serious?" I whisper.

"Look, let's get over this. This whole...war... thing between us, its getting old. And I like to keep things fresh."

"Is that why you cheated on me? Because I got 'old'?"

"I wouldn't call it cheating."

"Then what the hell do you call it?" I yell.

"Change." He says simply.

I can no longer control the tears that I'd been holding in for months. I lay my head on the steering wheel and shake my head.

"Let's get over this." Brayden says, tucking a strand of my wild hair behind my ear.

"Don't touch me!" I spat, slapping his arm away.

"Look, I'm just trying to help-"

"Get out! Don't ever say that again! Get out!"

Brayden looks out the window at the rain and sighs.

"Seriously?" He asks.

"God- I fucking loved you! Don't ever talk to me again. Get out. Now."

Without another word, Brayden opens the door and stands close to the car. Looking into the window from the outside as if to make me feel bad for him.

I lock the doors and sit still for a moment, composing myself and getting ready to drive. I cannot afford to get into another accident. My insurance won't cover it.

Slowly, I pull away, knowing that I will never again fall for Brayden's charm.

We're done for good this time.
