The School of Horror

Chapter 10

I went home terrified that he may come back. Scared that I would hurt Brianna in my sleep. I could't afford to be weak, because if I was I could destroy the people that I loved. I have to analyze the journal, I can't afford anything to go wrong.

 I walk into the house and no one is home, I'm scared. The house is creepy when it's empty. I decide that I would start reading the journal. 

January 2, 1850 

Dear Diary,

Today was such a rough day, Splendora was being quite the little troublemaker today. Even if she was being troublesome, I still love her. I will do everything to protect her and her mother, I have to stop The Axes from taking control of the world. The meeting is today to decide when to attack. I have to play along even if I don't want to, I have to do it for Splendora. I made my commitment the day I saw her to become her guardian. If she died, I don't know what I'll do. What if she dies when she isn't ready for it? She would be cursed with eternity on earth until The Axes are finished. What if I am doomed the same way, I must be prepared to die. Rose has decided that she is prepared to die ever since she found out that Edward was part of  The Axes. She said to me that she does not want an eternity on earth, she is preparing physically and mentally for when the day comes. I must go to the meeting before they look for me and find my journal. Until tomorrow, Theodore Henry.

The school day has begun and I have to live with seeing all my friends. The fact that I almost killed Caleb scares me. I know that we're friends but I kind of like him. Sometimes I wish that he was my boyfriend, so I can't imagine what it would be like if he doesn't want to be friend anymore. All of my friends are waiting for me at the entrance of the school. "Hey guys, sorry about everything, but I read the journal yesterday and this guy pretending to be part of the Axes to protect Splendora and someone named Rose decided to prepare herself for her death ever since she found out that some guy named Edward joined the Axes."

"What?! Let me see" Says Caleb. I show him the journal and he reads the first entry as does Hannah and Skylar. We all just look at each other with a confused look on our faces. "Whoa, that was intense."

"Ya it was." Says Skylar.

"Guys this is more serious than you think." Says Hannah. "We have to go see Splendora now and find out who these people are. This could be a clue to finding the truth about this place and the murderers behind it." 

"Ya but school is going to start soon, can't it wait until later?" I ask

"Look we have an hour and a half before school starts, let's go find Splendora and ask her who these people are."

"Listen we have one clue, this Theodore dude was saying how Splendora wasn't ready to be killed but Rose was, that's the reason why Splendora is still on earth. She was killed when she wasn't ready, she hadn't prepared herself to be killed." Says Caleb.

"Ya well Caleb, all people die without becoming ready..." Says Skylar.

"Everyone knows when their time is almost up, and you have to be killed not die naturally."

"Let's just go to Splendora so she can tell us what's happening." We find her in the usual spot. Just sitting in the garden looking all sad and lonely.

"Splendora!" We all shout.

"Hey, what are you all doing here."

"No time for questions, read this journal entry." She reads it and her face just drops. She looks at us with longing eyes. She looks like she's about to cry but she's trying to stay strong. 

"Splendora," I begin, "who are these people?"

She looks up and sighs a huge sigh, she seems reluctant to tell us who these people are, as if she had an emotional connection with each person. 

"Well..." She begins. Just then the school bell rang and she disappeared.
