"You're a terrible person, Tyler, you need to get help..!" said Nichloe, Tyler's on and off girlfriend for the past three years.
"Whatever, just remember, I can find someone better than you any day" Tyler said to Nichloe harshly.
"Tyler, you've been saying that crap since Freshman year, and you still haven't done anything..!" Nichloe shot back.
"Oh yea? That must be why I hooked up with ShyAnn last night at Justin's party?" Tyler said with a slight smirk on his face, as if to mock her.
"ShyAnn would never do that to me, and you don't even like Justin why would you go to his party?" Nichloe said. She wasn't the type of girl to let guys run all over her, but when it came to Tyler she had a weak spot.
"Because, I had nothing better to do, and obviously you don't know her that well." Tyler replied.
"Not as well as I thought I did, Tyler I'm done." Nichloe replied, whilst holding back tears.
Woah, I thought to myself. How could someone as smart as Nichloe be with someone like Tyler Porche? I mean, I can see the attraction... He's the most popular guy in school, and his looks weren't that bad either. In fact he resembled Channing Tatum. I'll admit, I had the biggest crush on him when I moved to Arizona back in 7th grade, but as soon as Sophomore year rolled around I couldn't have been more disgusted with the guy.
"What are you staring at, freak?" Tyler yelled from across the hall. It took me a minute to realize he was talking to me. I just looked at him, rolled my eyes, and continued to walk to class.
I met Justin outside of Mr.Routle's English lll class. He was wearing a green sweater, his usual dark Levi jeans that don't completely throw off his honey blond hair, and of course his puka shell necklace. He had gotten cuter over the summer, that was no lie, and it was obvious that the other girls had noticed. Not that, he wasn't cute before, but he was about as cute as a best friend could get. His face lit up like a Christmas tree when he saw me.
"Hey gorgeous!" he said without any hesitation.
"Hey..." I paused to think of a cute and catchy nickname. "Honey buns" I didn't notice how weird it would sound, until it had already left my mouth. We both began to laugh, and he reached his arm over and gave me a sideways hug.
"So, how has your first day gone so far?" Justin asked as we began to walk towards our next class.
"Well, I think I've already gotten on 'Tyler the beast's' bad side" I said in response, which made Justin crack a smile.
"Yea, but c'mon everyone is on his bad side... And, he could just be mad because last night I told him not to drink, that he would regret it in the morning, because we had school and he still drank." Now it was my turn to crack a smile, because I remembered that exact conversation from last night.
"It's kind of your fault though for having the party the day before the first day..!" I said punching him in the arm.
"Ouch Summer! Have you been working out?" He asked, playfully rubbing his arm as if he was actually hurt.
"Maybe a little" I said winking at him."How about yours?" I questioned, referring to his day.
"Uh, ya know, same old stuff... Do I have something on my back?" He seemed paranoid, so I looked at his back and shook my head. The only thing that I could see was a little wrinkle from his sweater in the middle of his back.
"Why do you ask?" I asked, slightly confused.
"Because people keep looking at me, and I thought maybe something was on my back." was all he said in reply.
"Maybe you got cuter?" I suggested, knowing he would deny it.
"No, I don't think that's it. I have to go to math though." He said turning around.
"Kay, bye... Are we still going to your house after school?" Justin's house was usually where we hung out.
"Yea, but Alek is coming over too so he can hang out with us. Is that alright?" He started walking down the hallway backwards, still looking at me, waiting for my answer.
"Yea, that's cool... See ya later." I answered. I may not be fond of Alek, but he's one of Justin's closer friends, so as the best friend, I have to make nice.
"See ya" he waved bye turned around, and continued walking to his next class.
