Chapter Thirty

“Happy Birthday!”

I opened my tired eyes to see my girls surrounding me.

“Damn normal people sleep in on Saturdays.” I giggle looking at all the balloons that read ‘17’

“Girl it is two in the afternoon.” Evelyn laughs

“Exactly and I couldn’t wait to say happy seventeenth birthday to my second daughter!” Mrs. Pace, Evelyn’s mom pad her way through the mini crowd in Evelyn’s room. In her hands was a giant cupcake with the big one seven sticking out.

“Oh you guys really didn’t have to do this.” I covered my blushing face.

“You’re right we didn’t.” Evelyn yawned.

Her mom elbowed her, “Don’t worry about it, we wanted to, but I have to get going girls don’t have too much fun.”

Mya sat beside me on the bed, “I wonder what your man got you.”

“Not even, I wonder what your boo got you.” Felicia winked at me.

“Ya’ll stop, I didn’t even ask him for anything.”

“Nathan or Glyn?”

“Both!” I roll my eyes

“Whatever” Evelyn said “But he told me to tell you to get dressed for 3? I think it was.”

“What? Girl why didn’t you tell me earlier, what time is it now?” I jumped out of the bed.

“2:49”

I ran to the bathroom, “Can someone pick out something for me to wear por favor?”

“Got you.”

As I walked out of the Pace's house I saw Nathan leaning on his car waiting on me.

“I should have known to tell Evelyn 2:30.” Nathan laughed

“Shut up,” I play punched him in the arm.

“Oh don’t hurt me baby.” He said before kissing me. “Happy Birthday.”

“So how does it feel to be seventeen?” He asked me as he opened my car door.

“Not much of a difference.” I shrug.

“It will be soon.” He winks at me. 

Oh Lawd

“Nathan where are you taking me?” I ask him fifteen minutes later on our journey to wherever it was he was taking me.

“It’s a surprise.”

“Nathaaaan.” I whined

“And we are here.” He pulled his car in to a parking spot and turned off the ignition. He leaned over and cupped my face then gently kissed me.

“I love you Necole.”

“I love you too.”

He laced his hand in mine and kissed it.

“What is this place?”

“My parent’s beach house, my mom thought I should take you.”

“She’s amazing.” I say getting out of the car to get a better view.

“Come on.” He got out the car and grabbed my hand.

As we stepped into the doors the sun brightly shined though the glass doors leading to the infinity pool.

“Damn, this is- wow.”

I looked at Nathan, “Why did she want you to take me here?”

“Because she knows how special you are to me.”
