October 11th
It was Saturday; the day of Logan's party. Every lunch break since Tuesday I have sat with Logan and Keira. From this, I've been able to meet the rest of their friends. There's five that sit on the table: Logan, Keira, Sophie, Blake and Mason. Mason hasn't turned up to school for the whole week so I haven't been able to meet him. I've been able to sit next to Logan every English class as well. He's is like having an adorable 4 year old little brother who is just discovering new things. Except Logan is 16.
Sophie and Keira were best friends, even though they are almost polar opposites. Keira had long platinum blonde hair that was a styled with messy waves. Her Makeup consisted of black eye shade and matte red lipstick. She would wear band t-shirts everyday with ripped jeans; in fact everything she wore had rips in. No questioned that she wore the same outfit three to four days in a row and I liked that.
Whereas Sophie had bob-length light brown hair that was always tied away from her face. She doesn't wear that much makeup, only a nude lipstick and black mascara. It was clear that Sophie was always up-to-date with new fashion trends as well. And none of it was cheap. She carried around a Michael Kors bag every day. Keira didn't care what people thought of her whereas Sophie cared a little too much. Their personalities were quite similar: they were both bubbly and supportive. Sophie was more of a peacekeeper, whereas Keira was rather adventurer.
Despite their different fashion senses, they were both coming over my house to help me prepare for the party. It was almost 7PM and they were supposed to arrive any minute. My mum was a nurse and before we moved to England, she was able to get a job at the hospital for night shifts. So almost every night of the week was out working since we arrived. I was scared every night, but I couldn't tell my mum that because she would quit her job in a heartbeat.
"Keira! Stop it!" My window was fully open, so Sophie's voice was audible in my room. I leaned over the windowpane, making sure I didn't knock out of my photo frames over, to see what the pair of them was doing.
Keira had one earphone in and was lip-singing to every person that walked past whilst dancing. Sophie had her hand in her hands but I could see a slight smile peering through her fingers. I laughed hard, hard enough for them to see me.
"Hey Kara!" Keira grinned, "'Cause this is thrillerrr, thriller night!" She began doing the signature 'Thriller' dance moves.
"Let us in before I kill her!" Sophie laughed.
I ran downstairs to open the door. The first thing Keira saw was my kitchen and ran straight there. The kitchen was quite plain, the previous owners didn't decorate at all. Every room had been painted cream. Since we moved in, every day my mum has repeatedly commented on the 'dullness' of all the rooms.
"Do you have any cheerio's?"
"The cereal?" I questioned.
She looked at me dumbfounded. "Yeah, duh."
"In that cupboard," I pointed to the shelf that was in the top right corner.
She went to reach into the box of cheerio but froze, "You don't mind, do you?"
"No of course not." I sat up on the worktops next to Sophie. Sophie was texting on her phone. I avoided looking so I didn't seem invasive. "What are Logan's parties like then?" Sophie and Keira weren't dressed up at all so I didn't know if it was a casual event. Sophie was wearing a cute pink floral dress and Keira was wearing black skinny jeans, a Nirvana t-shirt and a lot of black jewellery.
"Pretty wild. I'd avoid every bedroom and bathroom, there is usually people have sex in all of them. Even his parent's room." Keira laughed whilst Sophie grimaced. I didn't know how to reply to that.
