Four Years Earlier...

Nine Thirty-Seven a.m.
I was anxious. I felt as if there was something wrong with me and that I wasn't able to fix it.
"Miss Vanderwaal?"
I looked up. Doctor Ploska was standing in the doorway of the waiting room, her clipboard in her hand. I could say that she was just a regular doctor at a regular hospital, but I would be lying. Dr. Ploska is a Psychologist at St. Luke's Medical Center. People say that she has a gift for diagnosing a person with a legitimate mental disorder-
"Y-yes?" I stuttered, my nerves getting the best of me.
"It says here that you have Social Anxiety and Depression." she stated. "Is that correct?"
I nodded my head, a lump forming in my throat.
"From the symptoms that were shown on your evaluation the other day, I've come to a conclusion."
Dr. Ploska looked at me with sadness in her eyes.
"I'm sorry to have to tell you this Ashlee, but it seems that you have something called a Nightmare Disorder."
That very night, I had my first nightmare in seven years.
