Oh Chronicles,

With great exhaustion I write this. Last night was a rough one. This creature is wise. Following its tracks is like trying to reach the end of a maze. I'm actually surprised that my target has been able to deceive me for this long. I was able to apprehend one of his friends. I spent hours and hours tormenting her that I lost track of time.

My eyelids feel heavy, so heavy I am getting ready to doze off. As I look across the campus, I see my associates gobbling down what they call "food" and giggling. Oh how I wish I could be among them. Be like them... Innocent. They know nothing about the real world. It is all a fantasy to them.

The more I contemplate on the idea of Innocence, the more I realize it is nothing but a dream. A dream that I will never achieve. There is no way of fleeing from my doom. No one can release me from these invisible chains. My job is a burden, but someone has to do it. If only that somebody wasn't me.

Hoping this journal never falls into the hands of the innocence. Seeking to be freed of this obligation. Craving the idea of ordinary like a hungry rampaging wolf.

I am Violet Primrose, daughter of Axel and Aspen Primrose. Offspring of vampire hunters. I work alongside a family of witches known as the Halifax. To whom ever touch these pages other than a Primrose or Halifax shall learn the true meaning of corruption. Once in contact with darkness one can never escape. Forever bound in invisible chains. Like a plague that can never be cured.

With deep regrets,

Violet Primrose
