Define the Relationship

Life since the first day of school my life has been pretty boring. School then swim practice then home. Nothing exciting other than occasionally flirting with Greshawn, Bryant, and CJ. So when I got a text from CJ saying to meet him at the park, I was happy to finally get out of the house.

I took a shower aand began to get ready to go to the park. I had on white high waisted shorts, a black bandeau, a white jean jacket, and black and white high top nike heels.

Once I arrived at the park, CJ was sitting under a gazebo. As I was walking towards him I began to wonder, out of everyone in this neighborhood he decided to hang out with me. Why?

I sat at the table next to him.

"Hey," I greeted him.

"Hey," he responded.

"So what did you want to do?"

"I actually wanted to talk to you about something that has been on my mind since you got back."

"And what would that be," I asked curiously.

"Well we've been friends for about 4 years now right," I nodded queuing him to continue. "Well I've had a crush on you for a while now. And I was wondering if you wanted to be my girlfriend."

I looked at him wide eyed. I probably looked like a deer in the headlights. I began to think to myself. Would it be good for our friendship if we dated? Do I even like him? Would our friendship be ruined if I turned him down?

Not wanting the last question to happen, I hastily answered his question.

"Yes."

He turned to look at me and this time it was his turn to look like a deer in the headlights.

"Seriously," he asked unsure if I was joking around.

I giggled. "Yes," reassuring him that I was dead serious.

He jumped up smiling like he won the lottery. He reached out and grabbed me for a hug. I hugged him back. I caught a whiff of his cologne. He smelled amazing.

When we left the park CJ decided to walk me home. We parted ways at my doorstep. I ran to my room and hoped on my bed. I whipped out my phone and texted Jessie the great news of my relationship status.
