Kestrelkit pov

"Try and catch me fox dung!" I hissed running into the open field of the clan.

I jumped behind the fresh kill pile and flicked my ear listening for sparrowkit.

"I'm gonna find ya" He meowed trotting past my hiding spot.

I dashed up onto the highrock and hid behind squirellstar as she looked over the clan.

"What are you doing young one?" She asked.

"Hiding from sparrow kit, don't blow my cover!" I squealed.

She smiled and nodded.

I noticed sadness in her eyes.

"What's wrong squirellstar?" I asked.
"Is it bramblestar?"

"Heh, is that easy to see?"

"Plain as day!"

Squirellstar sighed "you don't know what it's like to see someone you love killed, right in front of you."

I dropped my ears and looked down.

"One day I want to be like you." I purred, trying to lighten the mood.

"Me?"

"Yes, sandstorm told me a lot of stories of when you were an apprentice and how stubbornly and...awesome you were."

Squirellstar chuckled.

"I did it all for bramblestar."

"Found you!" Shouted sparrowkit.

I squealed and jumped into the air my fur puffing out in fear.

Squirellstar laughed and jumped off the highrock.

"Come in kits." She said.

I cuffed at sparrow kits ear and hissed.

"You might have scared me but you can't catch me!" I hissed jumping off the highrock.

Sparrowkit jumped over me and began racing to the nursery.

I pinned my ears back and launched myself onto his back, flipping us over.

He meowed in terror as I tackled him.

As we tumbled, batting at each others fur felt a stiff object of fur hit my back.

I shook my fur and looked up to see mother looking down at us.

I slowly stepped off sparrow

"...hello mother.." I mewed.

"What did I tell you two about running off without my permission?"

"Umm..."

"Hmm?" Mother demanded.

I looked back and squirellstar was back on the highrock scanning over the meadow.

"Well?" Mother said louder.

"....uh" I stuttered.

"Do you have an important reason why you left the nursery?" She asked.

I smiled and nodded

"Oh yes mother! I was a thunderclan warrior and sparrowkit was a big ol' mean rouge, so we-"

Mother silenced me with the look.

"And sparrowkit!" She hissed at my brother.

"Yes momma?"

"What did your father tell you?"

"Bout what?"

"About leaving the den without telling me AND playing too rough with your sister!"

"Oh... he said- uh- I forgot." Sparrow whimpered

"Of you two continue to act like this I'll have no choice but to send you to take ticks out of elders fur!"

We both cringed and shook our heads rapidly.

"That's what I thought. I mean seriosuly you two are nearly 6 moons and you act as if you've never left the den!"

"Were sorry mother.." we both said.

"You should be, now, go get some lunch." She nodded to the fresh kill pile.

We both smiled and nodded walking over to the fresh kill pile.

I picked up a rabbit and ripped off a leg and began chewing. While sparrowkit picked up a moss and began biting at its back.

I finished eating my rabbit and picked it up.

"Let's go give the remains to the elders." I meowed beggining to walk across the grass.

"Hello sandstorm." I mewed dropping the rabbit.

"Hello youngins" she meowed as did graystripe.

Sparrowkit walked in and dropped the mouse.

"We brought you some prey." Sparrowkit nudged the food.

The two elders nodded and smiled

"Could you tell us a story?"

"Of course... hmm how about-"

"The time me and graystripe saved windclan!" Graystripe meowed.

"Heh, well I wasn't there so I'll let graystripe lead this." Sandstorm smiled.

"There I was.. standing in the Thunderpath helping morning tail across with her kits, until one of kits fell behind a monster rumbling up fast!"

My eyes widened.

"And then fireheart grabbed the kit the monster inches away from his whiskers!" Graystripe continued, "then WOOSH! The car left rolled past fireheart leading him to stumble. His felt filled with rocks- but the kit- safe." Graystripe purred.

I felt my fur stand on end as my claws dug into the dirt. My head ached and my kegs trembled.

I saw a faint vision before me. Only faint audio ringing in my ears.

A monster was sitting patiently as i, and a few other cats I hadn't known walked across the thunderpath. Until the monster lept from its hiding spot and roarded, crushing a small dappled cream tom.

I shook my head and the vision cleared.

I blinked.

"Kestrelkit? Are you alright?" Sparrowkit asked.

"I-i saw something." I whimpered.

"Well your not blind!" He mewed.

I rubbed my head with my paw.

It was probably just my imagination. I hissed in my head.
