I lay on my bed in our dormitory, staring at the ceiling. I miss Mum, but I know that she is proud of me. I feel closer to her in Gryffindor. I saw that on the notice board in the common room, there is an article cut out from the Quibbler, about her death. My memories are fading of that night, but I won't ever forget what Mum told me.
I fall asleep, with the memory fresh in my mind.
I sit in the back seat of the car, fiddling with my car seat straps. We rarely take the car, but when we do I enjoy it. But tonight, I don't. Mum is sitting in the back, pale and gasping for air, tears streaming down her face. Holly is in the front, crying, and Dad is driving.
'Scorpios.' Mum rasps, taking my hand on her's.
'My darling. When you are my age, you will not remember much of me and Holly will remember none. But can you tell her this every night, and remind yourself every time you miss me:
I love you Scorpios, and I love you Holly. You are my life and Daddy my soul. No matter where I am or where you are, I will love and remember you. Promise me you will remember.
'I promwise Mummy.' I say.
I wake up, tears streaming down my eyes, to my cat Scrums moaning on my ear;
Miaow. Miaow. Miaow.
'Shoosh, little cat. I will get you some food.' I grumble, tired from sleep.
I get up, and walk slowly to the end of my bed, where I grab a packet of meat. Scrums follows me, moaning angrily. He has a squashed face and flat ears, and muddy ginger fur. Apparently Mum had a cat just like it called Crookshanks. I love Scrums and he loves me, even though he seems to hate everyone else! I empty the meat into his bowl near the window seal, and then I climb up onto it and sit there, staring at the night sky. I kept my promise, and i told Holly every night, and I will tell her in every letter as well. After a while, Scrums jumps up onto my lap, and purrs gently before we both fall of to sleep.
I hope you liked that. It was short, and just a bit of a filler chapter, because I haven't included Scrums since the epilogue of The Married Years. Well I will see you soon my Dramioneheads!
