**Ollie's POV**
After I shifted, my wolf took over. He ran and ran and ran. When it came to what was his, he would do anything to protect her, and right now, she was in danger.
But how were we supposed to find her?
My wolf ignored all of my questions and kept on going. If she was within a hundred miles of us, he would find her. I didn't doubt it.
Ollie get back here! What the hell is wrong with you?
I ignored James. I put the best block I could up, and let my paws continue to carry my forward. If he really needed me, he could just break it down. If he was smart, he would leave me alone so I could find her.
We ran so fast, all I saw was a blur of green and brown. My eyes didn't have time to adjust to anything.
I tried to mentally focus on her scent. Vanilla and coffee. Vanilla and coffee. Vanilla and coffee.
It was my little mantra for hours. James didn't try to contact me again, and I was free to run. I had no idea where we were going. We ran from town to town just trying to catch a hint of her. She was American. She lived in this country. She was in the United States, unless she was on holiday. Dammit.
That girl travelled more than the average person. She was so cultured, and educated about other places. Another reason to love her. I could make a list of the things I loved, from her smile, her huge heart, her...
I was pulled out of my thoughts when my wolf growled and ran faster. Something was wrong. We stopped.
A foreign scent filled my nostrils.
I sniffed the air and looked around, trying to pinpoint the location it was coming from. It was everywhere. It was behind me, in front of me, on both sides, but where was the wolf?
Then I heard the rustle of leaves ahead of me. My head snapped in that direction, and a wolf walked out of the trees. Then another one, and another, and another. The curious thing was, they all had the same scent. I couldn't pick just one out. What was going on?
James. We have a problem. There's wolves. They all have the same scent. I think they were part of this expirement.
Ollie! Where the hell are you?
I have no idea. I turned around in a circle, staring at all the wolves. There was probably fourteen of them or so. I was in deep shit. James, you sure as hell better find her. Make sure she's okay.
Then I faced them, ready for battle. They came at me in pairs. While I attacked one, the other attacked me. As soon as I took one down, another came up. It was a brilliant strategy and I could feel my wolf weakening after I had snapped four necks, and the others were still biting and clawing at me. There were still so many and...as I fell to the ground I saw the rest of them charge at me.
She was the last thing I thought of before everything turned black.
**Emma's POV**
I leaned against the side of the truck for support. I was past the point of thinking this was all a dream. It clearly wasn't, no matter how much I hoped it was. Reality was hitting me repeatedly with a baseball bat and I didn't know what to do. I had a puppy, and two other people depending on me, a truck running out of gas, my phone was close to dead, and we were in the middle of nowhere. Plus, the truck was still stuck in the ditch. I mean how the hell am I supposed to get it out?
I took a deep breath. We could do this. I could do this. I pulled away from the truck and got in the drivers seat. I turned around to face the guy in back. "I have a plan, dont worry. As soon as I can get this truck out of the ditch, we'll be fine." The older man nodded at me. I pulled my phone out, turned it off to save battery, and then turned the truck on. Maybe I could back it up?
