Sierra's POV
We raced back to the camp, where the witch was just arriving. Ginnabrik was leading her, and she was carried in a chair by four ogres.

"Make way for the queen of Narnia! Empress of the Lone Islands!" That received a lot of booing, and Aslan gestured for me to take my place at his right side, which I did. The Witch stepped down, and came forward.

"You have a traitor in your midst, Aslan." Everyone murmured, and Edmund looked worried.
"His offense was not against you." She raised an eyebrow.
"Have you forgotten the laws on which Narnia was built?" He growled.
"Do not cite the Deep Magic to me, witch. I was there when it was written." She smiled wickedly.
"Then you should know that every traitor belongs to me. His blood is my property." Swords were drawn, including Peter's.
"Try and take him, then!" Peter said, standing in front of him, protectively.
"Do you really think mere force will deny me my right, little king?" She turned to everyone else.
"Aslan knows that unless I have blood, as the law demands, all of Narnia will be overturned, and perish in fire and water. That boy will die on the Stone Table. As is tradition. You dare not deny me my right." He sighed.
"Enough. I shall talk with you alone. Sierra, you come too." We went into my father's tent, where no one would hear anything we said. I had my hand by my sword, just in case.

"I remember you. You're the little brat whose parents I killed. If I remember, you later gave up the thr-" I growled at her.
"Don't. We came here for one reason only." She turned to my father.
"Aslan, why did we come here? You know what the law says, and you know I must have him!" I spoke up, knowing what I had to do.
"No. Not him, specifically. The law just says you must have blood." As I said that, my heart grew heavier, and the witch raised an eyebrow.
"What are you proposing?" I looked at my father, and he bowed his head, tears in his eyes. I held my head up.
"I am offering my life. Take my life on the Stone Table, and allow Edmund to remain with his family. That is my offer." She chuckled.
"You would do this for someone who betrayed you?" I took a shaky breath.
"Yes. I have my duty, and if this is what has to be done, then so be it." She turned to my father.
"Is this acceptable to you?" He sighed.
"In one way, as her father, no. But I shall allow it, if it is what must be done." She smiled wickedly, and turned to leave.
"I will be at the Table at midnight tonight. Come, or I shall have his blood." She left, and we followed. I saw Peter looking at me with hope in his eyes, and my father spoke.
"She has renounced her claim on the Son of Adam's blood." There was cheering all around, and the witch turned to us.
"How do I know your promise will be kept?" I changed into a lioness, and we both roared at the same time. Her eyes widened, and she sat down quickly and left to even more cheering. Everyone who could was hugging Edmund, but Lucy caught my eye. I tried to smile, and then I walked away, going to my favourite spot. The one place where we could see Cair Paravel from here. I sat there for hours, until Peter found me.

"Hey. Thought we might find you here." I smiled sadly, taking the food he offered.
"Thanks." He sat down, and I ate.
"It's almost time for bed. It's nearly eleven, and we have work to do tomorrow." I chuckled.
"Thanks, but I'm okay. I guess I'll come later. She's bringing her army tomorrow or the day after, so we need to be ready." He chuckled.
"That's you. Always have to look at the job ahead. By the way, do you know where Aslan is? He disappeared after the witch left, and no one has seen him. Any ideas?" I shrugged.
"That's him, sometimes. Especially when there's a hard task ahead. He takes off for a bit, clears his head, and comes back. There's still the statues in her place." He chuckled.
"Thank you. You brought us here, scared us half to death, and have nearly killed my limbs over the last little while." We both laughed at that.
"What, you don't like my training methods?" He scoffed at me.
"You wake us up at the crack of dawn by turning into an elephant and trumpeting, fifteen minutes to eat and get our armour on, then ten laps around the camp? Also, if we're not up and ready in time, you switch to a tiger and chase up around the camp." I giggled.
"I did that to Oerius a couple times. He was still a young centaur, and he wasn't up, so I turned into a mouse, and nibbled on his tail. Then, he got elephant, and I was trumpeting the whole time. Everyone was dying with laughter by the time I was through with him." Oerius came up to us.
"Sierra, everyone is saying that you said they don't have to get up early tomorrow." I grinned at Peter.
"Oh, is that so? Well then, how about we knock them out, and see how they like getting woken at the crack of dawn?" I changed into an elephant, and I went where everyone could see me, and trumpeted, then changed back.
"May I have your attention, everyone? I was informed that a rumor started that you will not be up early tomorrow. Wrong! You will! And, to help with that, everyone who wants to fight the witch tomorrow, ten laps around the camp! Now!" Susan looked nervous.
"Not you, Susan. If you'll excuse me, your brothers have already fallen behind. I'm gonna have some fun with them. Any animals they don't like?" Lucy giggled.
"Edmund hates hyenas. He thinks they're all laughing at him. Peter doesn't like crocs." I grinned, and I slipped in behind them, and started running, and as I ran, I changed to a hyena. Peter looked back, and poked him.
"Umm....Ed?" As we ran, I started laughing, and he finally looked back.
"Ahhhhh!!!!" He saw me, and ran faster than I'd ever seen him run. Then, it was Peter's turn. I switched to a crocodile, and snapped at his boots.
"Sierra, what are you-" He looked back, and his eyes grew huge.
"Ahhh!!" I caught sight of Susan and Lucy, and they were doubled over, laughing. They finished their ten laps, and I went up to Edmund, forgetting I had switched back to hyena. He yelled, running off. I chuckled, and headed back to my tent. At fifteen minutes til midnight, I grabbed my bow, quiver, and sword, heading out. I walked for a couple minutes, and then I heard footsteps behind me.

"I can hear you." Susan and Lucy came out from behind a tree.
"We couldn't sleep, Sierra. Please, may we come with you?" Lucy asked. I sighed.
"On one condition. If, no matter what happens, you don't interfere." They looked at one another.
"Agreed." I took their hands, and when we got close, I took off my sword belt and quiver.
"Keep these. If I don't come back, they will be needed elsewhere. I- I love you guys." And I walked on alone, leaving them behind. As I walked, I started crying quietly. I felt so good when I was around Peter, and I was wishing he was here. Oh well. I just wished I could've said goodbye, but this was for him. This was to keep his family together. I just wished I could've told him how I feel. That was my fault. I was too chicken, and now it's too late.

Susan's POV
Sierra handed us her weapons, and walked away. As she did, she changed into the form of a lioness, her steps slow, like they were painful. We went to where we could see her, and we saw the witch and her creatures. We could hear everything that was said there too.

"Ah. The lioness has arrived. Bind her!" At that, goblins and dwarves rushed forward, tying her up and beating and kicking her. They dragged her towards the witch, but she stopped them.
"Wait! Let her first be shaved." One dwarf raised his axe, cheering, and then slammed it into her side, knocking her over. A swarm of creatures surrounded her, hacking off what little of her mane there was. Then, she was thrown onto the table. The Witch held up her hand for silence, and then a beat started, and after a minute, there was screaming and cheering. Sierra's eyes locked with ours, and the witch leaned forward.

"You silly little girl. I've waited so long for this. You may think that you're saving him, but tomorrow, I will kill him anyway. Along with his brother. You failed. So, knowing that, despair, and die!" She screamed the last word, plunging her knife into Sierra's heart. I couldn't watch, and we heard the witch again.
"The great warrior....is dead! General, prepare your troops for battle, however short it may be. Tonight, we will prepare. But tomorrow, we will take Narnia....Forever!"

Author's note- hello! In the movie, it was Aslan that died, but I changed some things. Hope you're enjoying this book!
