"Lucy?" he asked looking puzzled at me. He held a small resemblance to the man I use to call my father. This man was larger, and had a lot less hair than my father. But his eyes, his eyes are the same, only more tired and aged.

"Hey Daddy." I tried to sound as enthusiastic as I could. I could see the confusion evident on his face.

"What are you doing here? How'd you get in?" he asked looking out into the hallway like it would give him some sort of answer as to what his daughter, who he hasnt seen in nearly a year, is doing standing outside of his bedroom door in the middle of the night.

"I, I dunno. I don't remember." I manage to stutter out. I look down at my feet, not sure of where else to look.

"Who is it David?" Oh God, she's here, I mean I knew she would be, but I never thought I'd actually have to deal with her again after I left.

"Its Lucy, dear.." dad says hesitently, stepping aside so she could also stand in the doorway in total shock and awe.

"What are you doing here Lucy? You left a year ago. You need to leave." She said sternly, squeezing my father shoulder. He looked pleadingly at her. She rolls her eyes.

"I guess she can stay until morning," my father exhails in relief, "But no longer than that. I mean it." She walks back into the bedroom. I mouth "Thank you" to him. He nods and shruggs.

"Lets go to the kitchen. I'll get you a cup of coffee before bed." he said motioning to the kitchen down the hall.

"Okie dokie." I followed him down the hall. It's been nearly a year and it still looks the exact same as the night i was put out.

"Please, sit." He pulls out a chair and i sit on it. I sit and watch him make the coffee. He measures out two and a half scoops, just like he always has. We wait in silence as the coffee maker goes to work. It only takes a few minutes until its ready. Dad gets up and pours two cups of coffee. He shakingly sets the cups down across from each other. He still uses the mug I got him for Fathers Day when I was seven. It's powder blue with bright ass red writing saying, "Worlds Best Dad!", and judging by the events about to take place, I really shouldve considered another phrase.

I take one last, too large, gulp of my coffee, realizing dad hadnt even touched his. I feel extremly drowzy all of a sudden. I go to stand to walk to my room, and stummble and fall. The last thing I remember is her coming into the kitchen fully dressed.

"What took so long, Jesus?" Caroline said stepping over me. And then it was lights out for me.

When I come to, I'm in the backseat of Carolines car. There is dim sunlight sround the car. I glance out the window, being sure not to move too much. I didnt want them knowing i was awake yet. The sky is a mixture of soft colors, orange, pink, purple, and blue. Suddenly we take a left turn, and the sky gets cut off by a thind line of trees on both sides of the car. This road is much rougher, as if we're driving on gravel, like a driveway possibly. My thoughts are interupted by arguing coming from the front seats.

"Maybe we should wait," dad says to Caroline, "We dont know if she is one for sure or not."

Her head snapped from looking at the road to looking at my father. I hadnt noticed he was in a suit, no doubt its one of his work suits. I always liked dad in his suits. It made him look sharp. And being one of the best lawyers means you have to look sharp I guess. Plus being married to the FBI's most well known agent, means always looking put together on the outside.

"You are one, and so was Julie," she says looking back at the road, "She has to be one. There is no doubt about it." Are they talking about me, And why did she just as my mothers name, She never speaks of mom.

"Even if that is the case, shouldn't we wait and explian it to her, before throwing her infront of all the chair members? They will eat her alive in there." he said pleadingly.

"Exactly." Caroline says. I can tell shes grinning, even from the back of her blonde head. I must have made some sort of noise and not realized it, because they both turned around and looked at me.

"Well look who finally came to." Caroline said, with a glint of something evil in her eyes.
