Oswald and Mickey were tired that night. " I can not thank you enough Mickey. I had the best of time." Oswald said with a smile. " Aw. It was nothin'." Mickey replied blushing. " So, can we see Walt tomorrow?" Oswald asked. There was that question again. Mickey stopped walking and looked down at the ground frowning. " Is something wrong?" Oswald said looking at Mickey concerned. Mickey hesitated but finally spoke. " Walt's dead." Oswald didn't say anything. But managed to say a word, " What?" . Mickey just told him everything. " He's dead. He died on December 15, 1966. He's buried in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale. I'm sorry." . Oswald frowned and asked, " How did he die?". Mickey responded quickly. " Lung cancer.". Oswald looked at Mickey with what seemed to be anger and confusion. “ And you hid this from me! The whole time I've been here, you hid this from me. One of the most important things in history." Mickey just told him the truth. “ I just didn't want to hurt you." Oswald just looked away from Mickey, not showing him that he was crying. They both walked home without saying a word. It was almost one in the morning when they returned.
Ortensia greeted Oswald with great joy and a kiss or two. But he didn't smile. She greeted Mickey with a hug. " What's wrong with him?" Ortensia asked very concerned. Mickey told her that he would tell her later.
That night Oswald thought about what Mickey said," He's dead. He's buried in Forest Lawn Memorial in Glendale." Oswald couldn't stop thinking about that. Mickey's voice kept on echoing in his head. What was the use. It was 2 in the morning. He just faced it. He couldn't sleep. So he did the unthinkable.
