I excitedly watched out the window as the Hogwarts Express pulled into Platform 9 3/4. I had been away from home since September, and I was ready for Holiday. Of course, I loved school, but I also missed my family. I scanned the crowd of parents, brothers, and sisters on the platform, looking for the white-blonde hair of my own father.
After a minute or so of searching, I finally found it, along with the dark hair of my Mummy, as well as my brother's. I felt a smile spread across my face as I stood up, grabbed my trunk, as well as Othello in his cage, and started towards them. As heavy as the trunk was, I ignored it. The quicker I went, the quicker I could see them.
"Scorpius!" I heard my brother call out as I neared. I weaved around the crowd, trying my best not to knock anyone over as I went. After going around a tall woman in a fur coat, I caught glimpse of my mother's black sweater. The grin that was already on my face widened.
"Colin! Mummy! Dad!" I finally worked my way to them. I put Othello's cage on top of my trunk before throwing my arms around my mother. She hugged me back, holding me close and tight, as she often did. I could smell the simple soap she used, along with the clean smell that lingered on her when ever she went to St. Mungo's: She had had therapy today.
"Scorpius..." She almost whispered. I felt her lips on top of my hair as she kissed it. She was so happy, I could practically feel her joy radiating off of her. "I've missed you." She kissed me again. I laughed.
"I've missed you, too, Mummy."
"Hey, I've missed Scorpse, too!" Colin said, trying to get my attention. Mum let go of me, and blushed. I turned to my brother.
"I've missed you, too!" I hugged him as well. When we parted, he instantly pulled something silver out of his pocket and help it up. I could now see that it was Dad's pocket watch.
"Look at my watch!" He beamed with pride and excitement.
"That's Dad's watch!" I pointed out. He shook his head.
"No, it's not! I got it as an early birthday present! I just looks like Dad's!Just like Dad's actually! Show him, Dad!" He looked at our father. Dad suppressed a laugh, and pulled out his watch from his pocket. Sure enough, they looked identical. I nodded my head, and Dad put his watch back into his pocket. Colin opened his, did some kind of quick calculation, then put his away as well.
"I hate to rush, but we should get going. Gregory and the children are coming for dinner, and are suppose to be there at five. It's getting close." Dad pulled my trunk and owl closer to use.
"Alright!" I took his hand, ready to Disapparate. We would all have to grab onto him, since Mum couldn't Apparate.
"Okay, I'll count to three." Dad started once Mum had his other hand, along with Colin. "One...Two...Three."
A moment later we were in the parlor. I looked around, and found Nana and Granddad sitting on the sofa. My eyes lit up.
"Nana!" I instantly went forward and threw my arms around her, just as I had my mother. She laughed.
"Welcome home, Scorpius." She gave me a squeeze before pulling away. "Gregory will be here any minute. We can have Gumby take your trunk to you room-"
"No, that's fine. I can take it, Nana." I gave her hand a squeeze before giving Granddad a hug, then turning to my trunk. Colin rushed forward.
"I'll help." He offered, and picked up Othello's cage.
"Thanks." I grinned, and he followed me up the stairs to my room. Once there, I put the trunk at the end of my bed. He put Othello on top of my dresser, and we both sat down on the edge of the bed. We were silent for a couple seconds, as I regained my breath from carrying the heaving trunk up several flights of stairs. Finally, he spoke.
