Te Exiles: Chapter 2
I couldn't breath. I could feel the water full my lungs. I plunged down and down watching what seemed like fireworks above me. Everything was a blur.
I shot back to the top, catching a much needed breath. Chaos. Small explosions, pieces of metal flying everywhere. I swam north where there was a clear area. I had no idea where I was going but I had to get away from the dying and dead bodies pleading for help.
I swam farther and farther away until I saw nobody. I did see four floating rubber tubes, which must of came from the smashed rocket. I grabbed them while doing a doggy paddle which was wearing me out quickly. I tied every one to one if my limbs, that dust help. It flip me back down floating and my mouth and nose nearly submerged. I tried to flip back up.
But it was too relaxing... I was getting dangerously tired. And that is never a good thing when in survival. As I drifted off into the great unknown, the shock hit me. I didn't know whether to be sad or happy but I vowed myself one thing.
I was going to survive...

"Bruno... Wake up!" I heard a familiar voice whisper to my ears. My eyes groggily opened and I saw the boy with curly blonde hair and the too expensive sneakers staring right bak at me.
"David?" I croaked as he stared into my opening eyes. He nodded and broke into his ever lasting speeches.
"Dude... So I saw you with these rubber black tubes around you and you were unconscious and I thought 'wow I have to do something ' so I pulled you up on here," David said enthusiastically pointing to a large metal slab we were both on floating in the water. "Anyways there's an island. I mean its super close... You don't have to get up and see it, but it's our only hope!" David continued.
Our only hope.
"Where are others?" I asked thinking about the blank children.
"Eh... There are survivors " David said uncomfortably. I let David stop there and we talked about the possibilities of survival and what to do as soon as we reached the island.
We were using the rubber noodles as paddles to get us closer to the island. It worked but my arms were so tired I could have played an arm-wrestle with a 3 year old girl and lose. The hot steamy sun slapped my face as if I were in insult to humanity.
In an hour... We were hungry, thirsty, tired, angry... But we were on an island.
We were on earth.
