Chapter 5

Leanne heard the sound of running water and a gentle humming of Neal's voice coming from the bathroom she, began to unpack, hanging up her dresses and tops that she had decided to take with her. Once done with the tops and dresses she started on putting her trousers and jeans in the chest of draws leaving enough room for Neal to hang his things up too.
She grabbed her toiletry bag and without really thinking she walked into the bathroom just as Neal got out of the shower " Omg I'm sorry I kind of forgot you were in here" she said quickly closing her eyes which made Neal chuckle.
" it's okay, I was finished anyway" Leanne opened her eyes to see Neal had wrapped a towel around his waist leaving his rather revealing wet, smooth , rather toned and slender torso.
Neal cleared his throat making Leanne jump she was unaware that she had been looking at Neal's naked torso for longer than she was meant to.
" I'll just ermm.....put these away" Leanne stuttered clumsily placing her toiletries around the sink area.
" I'm finished anyway" Neal said softly making his way closer to Leanne so,he was inches away from her.
She could smell is shower gel and after shave as it wafted under her nostrils, Neal brushed past Leanne who just stayed still unsure what to say or do next.
Leanne walked out the restroom and over to her wardrobe and opened it and started rummaging through options on what to wear.
" I guess we should be heading down there soon other wise they will get the wrong idea" Leanne said pulling out a simple but flattering dress.
Neal sat on the edge of the bed already dressed and ready to go. Leanne headed to the bathroom closing the door behind her or so she thought. Leanne stripped off down to her bra and panties blissfully unaware that she had left a rather large gap between the door and the door frame. Neal couldn't take his eyes away from the gap, he watched as she carefully slid the dress past her behind and up to her waist before pulling it up and zipping it.once she was finished she walked out of the restroom " was it open the whole time?" Leanne gasped.
Neal nodded " yes" Leanne felt her cheeks turn a light shade of Crimson.
" ready?" Leanne gave a weak smile " not really" Leanne sighed.
" hey, I am here and you are not alone we can do this together" Neal said walking over to Leanne and placing a hand on her arm.
" you look lovely by the way" Neal said giving Leanne the once over " you look very handsome" Leanne felt herself blush.
They left the room and made their way down stairs and into the garden where more of Leanne's family were seated chatting away and laughing.
" Leanne? Is that's you?" A lady dressed in a very Well to do out fit with a pearl be necklace which,Neal presumed was Leanne's grandmother.
" Hi Grandma" Leanne said walking into the ladies out stretched arms.
"hi sweetheart, and how do we have here?" She said pulling out the embrace to look a Neal.
" oh this is Neal one of my work colleagues back at Angels hospital" Leanne said gesturing to Neal who smiled and held out his hand " nice to me to you Mrs....?" The lady took Neal's hand and shook it.
" call me Martha dear" Neal chuckled " okay Martha nice to me you" Neal said politely.
" are you British?" Neal chuckled " yes I am" Martha looked to Leanne then at Neal and smirked " you know you'd make a cute couple" Leanne chuckled " Grandma" she said shaking her head.
" please excuse me" Martha said politely before she walked away.
" I'm sorry about that my grandmother is rather out spoken" Leanne chuckled.
Leanne and Neal walked around the large garden greeting Leanne's family who seemed impressed with Neal and were rather sure that Leanne and Neal were dating or should date.
" Lee is that you or are my eyes deceiving me?" A tall dark and handsome guy said rushing towards them.
" Hey Nick" Leanne said embracing the tall dark and handsome guy into a bone crushing hug and Nick spun Leanne round. Neal couldn't help but feel a pang of jealously not realising that it was completely innocent.
" it's so good to see you Nicky" Leanne said after he put her down on the ground
" it's good to see you too sis" Neal felt a sigh of relief this dude was her brother.
" who's this?" Nick said pointing to Neal.
" Nick don't be so rude! This is Neal and we work together and is my date for the wedding"
" you work together? Pfft yeah right like everyone's gonna believe that" Nick chuckled.
" seriously we just work together that's all" Leanne snapped.
" okay okay Jeez" Nick chuckled
" you know who is going to be here tomorrow for the engagement party?" Leanne sighed " no I don't and I don't care Nick" Nick smirked " oh but you will" he chuckled.
" who is it then Nick?"
" Adam as in your ex- Adam" Leanne smirked " whatever Nick" Leanne eyed her brother.
" shall we get a drink?" Neal suggested feeling the uncomfortable silence.
Leanne nodded " yeah I'd love to let's go, see you Nick" Nick nodded his head " y'all are so cute together you know that right?" Leanne shook her head .
" ugh my stupid ass brother.  Sorry my family just don't know when to shut the hell up" Leanne said glancing at Neal who was smirking.
" it's not funny Neal they seriously drive me insane"
" let's get a drink" Neal said walking over to the table and started pouring 2 drinks.
" here drink this it will calm you down" Neal said handing Leanne a plastic red cup full of vodka and lemonade.
" thank you" Leanne smiled before taking a sip.
They were interrupted by Leanne's mother "excuse me everyone" Leanne put her cup down on the table.
" here we go" Leanne rolled her eyes.
"I'd like to say a few words, firstly a huge thank you for coming today even thought it's just a tiny family get together for family. I am so excited for my youngest daughter Melissa who is getting married in a couple of days which means I only have Leanne to marry off and if she plays her cards right it might be to the cute British hottie over there" Leanne's cheeks burned a deep shade of Crimson.
"I don't know if I can do this Neal" Leanne turned towards him " Hey you can do this, you have me here with you okay" Neal said placing his hand on her arm and rubbed his thumb over her skin gently soothing her.
This little act of kindness did not go unnoticed by the rest if the family who shared knowing glances at each other.
