like shimmering gold
could never compare
to the sepia tones that
resemble ancient photos.
The melancholy black specks
express your darkest nights,
and the sea green swirls
crash like powerful waves.
A burning fire is fueled
by the fierce orange flames,
but the chestnut flakes
fight the raging blaze.
Every color palette in the universe
is green with envy
for their hues are inferior
in comparison to your eyes.
