Melody's POV
It was 8:00 in the morning when I woke up. I didn't here my mom cooking, and my dad wasn't calling me. "They must still be asleep", I whispered to myself. I quickly got ready and put my hair in a braid. I walked downstairs and let my puppy out of the kennel; I went fix us some breakfast I waited a few minutes before eating because I had found a note on the table. I thought it would be the usual "have a great day" note, but the one was different. This one worried me. I couldn't believe what I had just read, so I decided to read it out loud.
"Dear Melody,
We have been asked to go overseas. It won't be long. We asked your Aunt Megan to come watch you while we're gone. We love you sweetie.
Love,
Mom and Dad"
