Here I go, it is just a small amount of road the one I am required to walk today. It shouldn't be that hard. Walking through the doorway of my house allowed my eyes to contemplate the brightness of today's sun. "The neighborhood looks unique, all the available places to park are being utilized. Most of my neighbors must be taken advantage of today's holiday." I said as my eyes were trying to count the number of cars that were parked on my street.
I began to follow the concrete path that is located outside my house. An unrecognizable silence surrounds the whole neighborhood. There are no laughs of people welcoming the incoming weekend. The small puddles that were left by yesterday's rain is all I see wandering the sidewalk I am following. As I walk I start to notice the darkness that shows each of the windows in my neighborhood, not even the sun is able to illuminate the amount of darkness. My feet making contact with the cold pavement is all I hear.
If I had to choose a favorite day of my life, it would certainly be this day. The amount of tranquility my body captures today makes me feel alive; I see things I wasn't able to see yesterday. The trees which can be found in one of the parks from my childhood show different tints of green. "The side where the sunrays hit the leaves looks brighter. The leaves look darker on the opposite side," Were the mutters that were echoing inside me. There are no cars observing my movements; there are no eyes following the pace of my feet. Today I feel safe, here in the streets. These peaceful streets.
