"I expect a brilliant performance dear."Jean Baptiste's words echoed inside her mind, they were distant but steady. She could hear him clearly. Soon her nervousness grew just as the intense feeling on her heart.

She nodded slowly and swallowed hard. Her heart was beating faster and her knees were weak at that point. She was secretly excited but the nervousness was clearly overcoming her other emotions. She knew it was stupid because every time she stepped out and started playing, it was like she entered a new and exciting world and she was the only one there, no one could touch her, it was just her and the piano.

"You're up in 3 minutes." She heard Juliet's voice, her mentor's assistant. She smiled and nodded at the woman in front of her, she felt relieved when she disappeared through the curtain backstage.

She knew her parents were out there, somewhere in the crowd. They always tried to come to every concert and that made her really happy, feeling their support just gave her an incredible force inside her heart.

She was lost in her thoughts when she felt a cold hand on her shoulder. She turned around and saw Corentin, he had a big smile on his face. He opened his arms to wrap her on a tight hug.

"You're the bravest person I've ever met, not to mention the most talented one. Now go and kick some asses." He whispered to her ear. She loved him very much, he was her best friend in the whole world and knowing she had his support meant a lot for her.

That night she was giving a concert that was actually some kind of audition. She dreamt of being part of something big and she knew the Berlin Philharmonic's Director was going to be present. She wasn't the only musician to play a piece, but in the minutes they gave her, she had to make the best performance ever if she wanted a place in The Berlin Philharmonic.

"Thank you Cor. I wish you all the luck in the world as well." She said and he smiled sadly. Corentin's instrument was Violin and he had already auditioned but he missed some notes. The boy had been practising for years for that moment but she was always a positive person, she was sure the director will appreciate his talent and charm.

"I hope you have better luck than I." He said a bit sad. She felt her heart warming up inside, the kind words of her best friend touched her. She stood on her tiptoes to give him a warm reassuring hug.

"You my friend, are the best violinist I've ever met, so don't worry about it, they will calling you anytime." She said, trying to lift his mood so he hugged her back.

"Merci."

"It's your turn." She heard her mentor's voice behind her.

"And you, get out! It's time for my girl to shine." He said to Corentin, moving his hands to show him the way out, Corentin rolled his eyes and winked at her friend as he walked towards the door, living her finally alone with her nervous thoughts. She liked her friend's company, she enjoyed it but right now she wanted to be alone, she needed it.

"Now go and shine. I've trained you all these years for this moment Mon chérie." He said and hugged her favorite student. Jean Baptiste had dedicated so many years to train her, he had dedicated all his knowledge and talent to her, to this moment. He was truly proud of her and biased for sure.

She smiled and nodded. She stepped out and the intense light blinded her as she heard the applause around her.
