I vaguely remember feeling nervous looking at the 3 identical apartments side by side, all part of the Rockefeller Complex, with the sidewalk curving out in three different directions. I walked up to 2 Rockefeller Park and positioned my hand over the bell. Wait.

I pulled out my phone to examine my reflection. I ran a hand through my light brown hair and pushed my rectangular glasses back up on my nose. I pulled up my dress, which had been dropping lower and lower on my chest. I had just reached into my purse to grab my lipstick when the door flew open.

"Christina!!!" My flaming red-headed cousin shrieked as she reached out her arms to pull me into a hug. "It is soooo great to see you! How long has it been, three years? Four?"

"Wow yes it must have been four years." I said, slightly taken aback and leaning away from her hug. "How did you know I was here?"

"Oh we have cameras all over the place, can't have an apartment as expensive as this without them, huh?" She blabbered on and on. "But come inside, I've been waiting to show my little cousin to everyone."

I glanced at my surroundings once more. The area was completely deserted, with the only sign of life being a bright light at the very top of the apartment to the left.

"Earth to Christina! Come on, I want to hear all about how college life has been treating you."

"I uhh..." I mutter as I turn back to face Caroline.

"Oh maybe if you're lucky you'll see Leo on your way out." She finally grabbed my arm and pulled me into the apartment. I was momentarily at a loss for words when I saw the massive crystal chandelier in the entrance hall.

When I closed my gaping mouth I asked, "Sorry...Leo who?"

"Oh I thought you already knew!" (She continued dragging me throughout the apartment, not giving me a moment to appreciate the exquisite and clean architecture.) "Leonardo DiCaprio lives right next door."

My mouth fell open again. "Soon-to-be Oscar- winner Leonardo DiCaprio lives next door to you?!"

"Well yeah." Caroline smirks at me, pretending that this is an absolutely normal conversation about an ordinary neighbor. "We don't see him very often though. Now finally!" She pulled open two wooden doors to reveal a huge hall filled with people, lots of people, as well as food and champagne covering every table.

"I'll be right back!" She doesn't give me a second glance as she rushes back over to one table where a group of already partially drunk women were laughing about the last episode of the Bachelor.

Here I was in a room with at least a hundred people and I only knew one of them. And the second she had the chance she left me on my own. I pulled at my dress again and tried not to puke. Didn't she know that I'm socially awkward even among people I know?

Someone tapped me on the shoulder and I jumped. Turning my eyes towards the tall stranger behind me, I clutched my purse closer.

"You must be Christina." A handsome dark haired man wearing a black suit and a white bow tie holds out his hand.

"Matt?" I said questioningly. It had to be, he was the only one who could remotely know who I was.

"Yup that would be me, the lucky fiancé." Why did he sound sarcastic when he said that? "So, you're an author right?" Every word he said sounded drawn out and bored, like he had somewhere he'd rather be.

"I'm actually at school to become a reporter, though writing a book is something I've always dreamed of doing." Matt nods his head as I speak.

"That's enough small talk. Come on, sit down." He gestured toward the nearest table where a young man only slightly older than me was smiling at me.

I followed him to the table and the young man immediately launched into conversation. "How about a drink?" Matt interrupted whatever he was saying.

"I really shouldn't... " But then I thought about it. If I was drunk no one would expect any serious answers out of me. I wouldn't have to talk to this fool next to me who kept looking at my boobs. I could get away with being anti-social. Half the people at this party were almost drunk, if they weren't already. Besides, it might be kind of... fun.

"Alright, Matt. Sure, load me up." (Probably not the right term.) I was trying to sound more confident then I actually was.

Matt placed a huge bubbly champagne in front of me. I rolled my eyes at him. "I'm going to need more than that." (Well I thought...I'm actually not sure.)

I adjusted my dress again and... well... that's the last memory I have of last night.
