Chapter 3

I woke up to the light from the outside world shining in my eyes. I groaned and looked around, noticing that I was laying at the foot of my bed and Mia was laying up by the pillows. I chuckled and moved my foot so it was laying on her face. She shot up as soon as my foot smacked her face and her eyes widened as she looked around. I burst out laughing making her glare at me.

"Get up you lazy girls." My mom yelled from outside the door. I groaned and Mia and I both rolled off the bed and flopped onto the floor.

Mia landed on top of me making me grunt. I pushed her off of me and slowly got up. I walked over to my closet and put on a shirt. I guess Mia and I were doing some yoga last night considering I'm only in leggings and a sports bra.

Mia met me at the stairs and we both looked at each other as we smelt something coming from the kitchen.

"PANCAKES!" We yelled in unison as we raced down the stairs. I heard my mom laugh as we raced into the kitchen, quickly piling pancakes and bacon on our plates.

"So since there's that after school prom thing, I was thinking about taking you girls dress shopping." My mom smiled and I looked at her shocked.

So our school is a little different and since we finished High School, we get to have a party. They call it our second prom as a senior. I don't know our school is kind of weird. So basically you go spending money on another prom dress, or homecoming dress as some people say. You get asked to the dance, you have corsages and everything. So basically its prom.

"Are you sure mom? I don't even think I'm going." She shook her head at me.

"Of course you're going." She chuckled and I smiled, but it vanished just as quickly as it came.

"Can you afford it?" I asked worriedly making her laugh. I furrowed my eyebrows. Why is she laughing? I'm not laughing.

"I've been saving up for this. That's why I was always gone when you got home from school, I got another job." My eyes widened.

"Oh my god that's great!" I exclaimed, embracing her in a hug.

"I'm proud of you Anne." Mia grinned, going our hug.

What a family.
