SGE: Hidden Secrets

A Sick King

It was morning and Tedros was present, eye bags and all. He didn't look rested or healthy. His hair was untidy, he was tired, and stressed.

Agatha, Tedros, Merlin, Lancelot, and Guinevere were all seated at the long table, king and queen at each end. Merlin was seated beside Agatha, Guinevere beside Tedros, and Lancelot in the middle. Reaper stayed under the table, eating fish. A generous amount of food was on the table. Egg, rice, eggplant, buttered toast and muffins.

Agatha can't stand Tedros today, mainly because he didn't look we'll which meant that he could get sick and she has to do all the work which was unfair. Partly because he has been sneaking out at night and has been keeping it a secret. But she held back the urge to ask a stupid question, so she finished her food quickly and went straight up her room. She ran to the bathroom to freshen up.

A few minutes later Tedros came up, saw Agatha was nowhere there so he lay down on the bed. He knew she was in the bathroom beacuse the lights in there was on and the sound of the shower was loud.

He didn't know what to do. He knew Agatha was suspicious but he had to keep it a secret. He just had to-

Agatha was out, hair wet, towel around her body. She froze. Tedros saw the scowl on her face. He didn't blame her. He just rolled on his other side, facing the wall. He knew she was blazing with hatred now and he felt like crying. No! He had to stand his ground.

Agatha's face softened when she saw the tears starting to form. Her suspicions lowered and she guessed he was tired because of work. She sat on the bed beside him. "What's wrong Tedros? What have you been doing? I want to know why you seen so tired."

Suddenly Agatha felt like the Agatha when she confessed everything to Hort. The days of insecurity, suspicions, misunderstandings were finally over. But somehow, Tedros was bringing it all back. Was he spending time with Sophie? No! Impossible. They were royalty now. Together. Forever. Tears rolled down her face. She missed Sophie. She wanted everything to make sense even though she knew it was impossible. "Tedros?"
She turned to her king of sleep.

She felt his forehead. Oh no.

Downstairs, silence hung in the royal dining room. Lancelot was reaching for Tedros' unfinished food. Guinevere slapped his hand. "What? I'm hungry", growled Lancelot.
"Hungry! The king and queen of this land just acted like that and you want food?"
"Exactly!"

Merlin looked worried. "Tedros looked sick."

They then realized the danger of a sick king.
