New York, New York, USA
Saturday, January 5th 10:37 a.m.
RachelMy dad is an officer for the NYFD. He was on duty for the Twin Towers attack and survived. He said he'd seen everything. Every type of fire in existance.
I doubt he's seen the fires I'm seeing now.
The dragonfire that engulfed the largest US city east of the Mississippi refused to let go. Water, foam, all thee standard protocal fire defense wasn't working. And the fire was spreading.
It was like a forest fire, except the dragonfire was burning through the concrete jungle. The only option was to get everybody out.
Even that was failing.
The thing with New York is that every building has to be tall. Like, three story limit tall, tall. So what happens when fire burns through the glass and metal? Those people are doomed.
My dad saved so many people. But he didn't save himself.
He died a hero. He got over a hundred people out of their houses and offices from the time he was called in at one in the morning. He saved so many people.
But then he was burned to a crisp.
Scientists had a new name for this hellish apocalypse. Dragonrain.
I'm still gonna call it hell on earth.
