Freddie's phone rang multiple times until he finally picked it up. He was trying to ignore it, it was the day after Ellie had found the letter about how Charlotte wanted to kill Charlie. Ellie had come round that morning, they were sat at the table with a coffee. Louis and Amelia were playing with Louis' duplo. The twins were asleep.

"Hello?!" Freddie answered, frustratedly, angrily. There was silence for a few seconds. "Tegs?" He asked, calmer, more worried. He furrowed his eyebrows. "Tegs? What's up? You ok?" He asked, questioning her.

"Fred. It's Charlotte. She's been admitted to the mental unit. She's got postpartum psychosis. After the twins were born, something basically snapped in her brain, and it caused her to go off the rails. She goes on and on about the Devil? How Charlie is some sort of Devil and your a Demon. She thinks she has to kill you. I'm so sorry Fred, your kids lives have been pulled apart by the seams and we should have picked up on it sooner." Tegan told him, biting her lip. She didn't know how Freddie was going to react. "You should come in and see her? She's a bit better now she's on the right meds." Tegan suggested.

"Yeah." Freddie mulled it over. "I will, in a bit. Erm, I'll get Robbie to watch the kids." He replied, hanging up the phone.

"What's going on?" Ellie asked, taking a sip of her coffee.

"Charlotte's been admitted to hospital. She's got postpartum psychosis, Tegan says some wires got crossed wrongly on her brain or something stupid like that. I don't really understand it but I've gotta go and see her." He sighed.

"You want me to watch Lou, Meli, Jake and Charl?" Ellie offered. "I don't have to be in college till two."

"Nah," Freddie hummed, "I was actually wondering if you would come with me. I could do with some support, if you don't mind?"

"Of course I don't!" Ellie smiled widely at him. "Two ticks let me go for a wee and then we'll be off." Ellie rushed into the downstairs bathroom quickly, she always managed to make him laugh, even when she didn't do anything remotely funny.

"ROB!" Freddie called up the stairs.

"What?" Robbie shouted back down.

"Can you watch Lou, Amelia and the twins for me for a bit? I've gotta go some place?" Freddie asked his younger brother. Robbie nodded, shrugging his shoulders.

"Yeah, whatever. How long you and Ellie gonna be out for?"

"About an hour maybe. Wait, what do you mean me and Ellie? How do you know it'd be me and Els? Anyway she's just coming with me for support to see Charlotte." Freddie told him.

"That's a bit of a dick move, Fred, taking your girlfriend to see your wife." Robbie whistled. Freddie slapped him around the back of the head, as Ellie came out the toilet. Ellie always dressed colourfully, unlike both Freddie and Charlotte. She was dressed in a mid-length light pink skirt and a crop top in the same colour, with white three inch heels.

"Let's go." Ellie told him, opening the door, Freddie grabbed his jacket, following her out. "Don't let Jake fall off the sofa again!" He told Robbie, as Robbie nodded and shut the in their face.

"Ready for this?" Ellie looked at Freddie as the walked in. Freddie don't say a word, he didn't know what to say. As they walked in, he quickly clasped his hand in Ellie's, as if he was holding onto her for dear life. She rubbed his arm, trying to give him some sort of support, comfort.

"I've gotta go in by myself." Freddie choked out.

"It's ok, I'll wait for you out here." Ellie smiled sympathetically at him. Freddie nodded, pushing open the door and walking in, taking a deep breath. He was showed to Charlotte's room, taken to see her.

"Freddie?" She looked at him as if she couldn't be sure it was him, like her eyes deceived her.

"Yeah, er, yeah. It's me." He said, sitting down next to her. She offered her hands to take his. He obliged, rubbing his thumb in circles around the side of her hand. "Louis, Amelia, Jake and...Charlie, they're fine." Freddie told her.

"Freddie I'm sorry, I've done this and I don't know why I did either. I want to cuddle you and my little munchkins. I never slept with Dirk. I'm a mess. I even tried it on with Robbie. What's wrong with me Freddie?" Charlotte was whispering by the time she finished talking, she was bawling her eyes out.

"Hey, hey, it's ok." Freddie stood, pulling her into his arms in a hug.

"Don't leave me, Freddie?" She begged.

"No...of course I won't." He promised.

But his heart wasn't in it, he didn't know whether he wanted to stick by her or not. She was the Mother of his children though, and he couldn't just sit and watch her suffer. He stayed, talking to her until she finally fell asleep; to which he stroked her cheek quickly, and left. He ran his fingers through his slick hair, Ellie was still waiting for him.

Glancing at his watch, he realised he had been in there over two hours. "Els, I didn't think you'd stay this long, you didn't have too, honestly." Freddie apologised profusely.

"Hey, I promised didn't I? I don't break my promises." She smiled at him. "You ok?" Freddie shook his head.

"She's...she's just not the woman I love anymore. I tried, I really did try in there, but I couldn't. I couldn't do it. The things I used to love about her, it just annoys me now." Freddie broke down in front of Ellie.

"It's been a long time, Fred, since you two were together, it's not surprising. People move on, it just seems like that's what's happened to you." She told him, placing her hands on his cheeks, as he gazed into her eyes, his hands resting on her waist.

"Don't leave me, Els?" Freddie whispered.

"Never." Ellie promised, as Freddie leaned down to place a long, gentle kiss on her lips. Charlotte watched from the doors, as Ellie and Freddie kissed, hugging, not knowing she was there.
