I thought I had my whole life planned out. Go to school, get somewhat decent grades, maybe college, find the one, and have a family of my own. But no, my mother had this amazing idea to invite my grandma over. Now don't get me wrong I love my grandma, but come on I haven't seen the woman since I was five! Meaning it's been ten years since then. My mom didn't really talk to her much and as far as I knew they had a fight when I was younger. About what? I don't know. But I'm getting ahead of myself here. Let's start from the beginning.

It was a cold, winter day in New York. I was sitting in Central Park, waiting for Dennis. Dennis has been my best friend since I moved here three years ago. He has black hair and big brown eyes. A shiver had quickly made its way down my back. I've been getting chills all day like I was being watched. I know what you're thinking "Omg she's just being paranoid! Blah, blah, blah". And if the longest place you lived for is three years wouldn't you think your hiding from something or someone? But we'll get to that later.

All of the sudden a voice came from behind me. "How ya doin'?", I swiftly turned my head to see Dennis. Dennis didn't really have any friends except for me, and vise versa.

'Yes I know I'm a loner now back to the story.'

Anyway, he looked as he always did with his messy black hair that just ended at his ears, a dark green hoodie, jeans and converse with a plain black backpack slung over his shoulder, and as always he had a book in his hand. I will say one thing, I love books and video games. 'Percy Jackson, The Infernal Devices, The Mortal Instruments'...,yeah I've read them all. As for games I play hand held games just stuff like 'Mario, Pokemon' things like that. I watch television but not a lot. My two favorite show are 'Supernatural and The Avatar' series. The one with the elements not the blue cat aliens things. Yeah go ahead and say it, 'nerd, geek, blah, blah, blah'. I really don't care I've heard it all before. Books were a way for me to get out of this miserable world.

"Where were you?! I have sat here waiting since noon!", I said in my I-will-hurt-you voice.

He smiled and tucked the book safley under his arm before pulling out his phone with his left hand while his right stayed behind his back. "I messaged you saying I was running late". He shoved back into his pocket.

"You texted me that 12:15! It's now 1:30!", I said while making a dramatic motion of looking at my wrist for the watch that wasn't there.

"Kate I have a life too", he pouted as his right hand stayed behind him. I shifted on the bench trying to look behind him but he quickly jumped farther back.

"W-what?", He looked at me for the slightest second before shifting his gaze to his shoes.

"I'll tell the cheerleaders you watch porn when you're home alone.", I smirked.

He quickly looked up blushing madly. "Fine", he said reluctantly with a look of defeat on his face. Slowly his hand came into view.

"Churro addict", I sighed as the cinnamon coated confection was shown.

"Hey! It's my body I can do what I wanna.", He started to try and dance. Key word try. I stood up and walked to him. He stood at about 5'9 where as I stood at 5'2.

"So you called for a meeting?", he asked as he bit into the churro.

"Yeah, okay...so don't laugh at me, but I think somebody's been watching me." He stared at me for a brief moment before he brusted out laughing.
A blush slowly creeped to my face "H-hey I said don't laugh!", I punched him in the arm.
