Dunbar love

Game night

Beacon hills was scrimmaging against Devonford Prep. I walked Liam over to the bench with our hands intertwined. He let go to put his sweatshirt into his bag. It felt like it was 10 degrees so I crossed my arms so I wouldn't freeze because I had a t shirt on. I guessed Liam noticed and dug in his bag for his sweatshirt and handed it to me.
"Here." Liam said handing it to me with a smile.
"Are you sure?" I asked
"Definitely" he said smiling which made me smile so I put it on.
"It looks better on you anyways" Liam added. It said 'beacon hills lacrosse' on the front and 'Dunbar 9' on the back. Guess we were getting 'serious'.

I went over to the bleachers when coach came up to me and was hanging the whistle in front of my face.

"You didn't forget you were assistant coach did you?"'coach said
"Of course not." I said grabbing the whistle. But I did forget.

I went down to set on the beach next to the players when I heard Stiles talking on the phone.

"Where the hell are you?" Stiles asked. I figured he was on the phone with our dad.
"I'm here Stiles, is that not good enough?" I said laughing
"Why are you here?" Stiles added
"Gee thanks, Stiles. Maybe because I'm your assistant coach."
"Yeah right. You're funny." Stiles said and just walked away. That was weird. He wasn't being sarcastic like he always is. Oh well.

The game started and we were losing. Obviously. But then Stiles got the ball and passes it to Kira. "Go Kira!!!" Everyone yelled. She started running and did a front flip over one of the guys and scored. Everyone started jumping and screaming then coach yelled "YUKIMURA. Why didn't you pass the ball."
"I had an open shot" Kira snapped
"Yeah but the play was for you to pass. This is a scrimmage. So your benched for the rest of the game." Coach added

Now who was going to help figure out if Garrett is killing these people for the benefactor. Oh, did I forget to tell you about that. Well the mute, who called Sean and his family, was killing because of a dead pool that the benefactor was sending money to if they killed a supernatural creature that was on it. Liam wasn't on it yet but there was still 2 more lists. I was thinking about all this when I heard a scream and looked up to see Liam and Brett on the ground. I shot up and ran out there as fast as I could.

"How hard did you hit him?" Scott asked
"I didn't. He hit me" Liam added while showing us his arm. You could see his bone sticking out. It was distinguishing.
"Okay. Close your eyes" Scott said when he pushed the bone back into place. I looked over to see Garrett with his lacrosse stick retracting the blade back into it and I freaked out.
"Did he cut you? Did Garrett cut you?!" I asked worriedly.
"No. I-I don't think so" Liam said.
"Well we gotta get you out of the game" Scott said.

"Okay. I talked to coach. I'm out for the rest of the game" Liam added as the paramedic took Brett into the locker room because he could walk.
"Okay well I'll go check on Brett." I said
"Haley, I don't think that's a good idea." Liam said grabbing my hand pulling me back.
"Yeah I think it's a very bad idea" Stiles added as well.
"I'll be fine guys. I promise" I said watching Liam and Stiles look at each other.

I peeked my head around the door in the locker room to see violet with a thermo-cut wire around Brett's neck. I grabbed a lacrosse stick and hit her in the back of the head with it to get her off Brett. She didn't kill him, but she might kill me. I started running and I tripped in front of the lockers and violet was going to out the wire around my neck when something grabbed my arm and pulled me away. It was Liam. I was so glad to see him I gave him the biggest hug.

"Thank you" I said to Liam.
"It's my turn to save you" Liam added.

I looked behind the locker to see violet with the wire around Scott's neck.
"I got you. I got an alpha. He said we shouldn't try but I got you." Violet said. I guess she was talking about Garrett.
Scott pulled the wire off his neck and broke it. He picked up violet by the neck and slammer her against the wall. She was knocked out.
"Is everyone okay?" Scott said
"Yeah we're okay" I said

Stiles ran in to see Brett on the ground and violet on the grown and saw me on the floor. I was shaking. He ran over there and hugged me and picked me up.
"Are you okay?" Stiles said
"Yeah, Stiles, I'm fine." I added
"Can you give us a minute." Stiles asked as Scott and Liam pulled out Brett and violet.
"What is it" I asked
"Haley, you're not immortal. You're not supernatural. You're human, so you need to stop trying to be a hero. It's getting you hurt and I don't think I could live with myself knowing you got hurt or worse and I couldn't stop it. You can't leave me and dad alone. We need you. But you can't be here if you keep trying to help everyone"
"Stiles, I'm just like you. Me and you both are human. Me and you both try to help our friends because that's what we do. I don't think I could live with myself if I knew one of my friends got hurt and I couldn't stop it. And I know you feel the same way."
"You're right. We are the same person, Haley. We are just alike. We try to help everyone but sometimes we can't save everyone."
"But we'll never know until we try." I added
"Let's just promise each other that we'll be safe and if we do something dangerous, we do it together" Stiles said.
"I promise" I said
"Love you, Haley." Stiles said while hugging me.
"Love you too, Stiles."

"Oh and please be careful with Liam." Stiles added
"You really like him don't you?" Stiles asked
"Yeah I really do." I added
"Good, because he really likes you too" stiles said and I smiled.
"Now. Let's go home" Stiles said helping me up as we walked to the jeep so we could head home.
