The life as me

The day that I Spoke up- part 2

So the next Friday after school I walked home and went straight to my room and gathered up my stuff and put it in the bag. I went down stairs and trying to seek down the stairs I fell "OH SHIT!"

I fell down the stair and bruised my knee "Brody what are you doing why do you have a bag with you are you going somewhere?"

"Uh yeah I'm going to Randy's house" I said lying and hoping she forgot that I told her me and him had a fight

"But didn't you guys have a fight yesterday?" she asked

"Uh yeah but we settled our stuff so he invited me over" I told her lying I was sweating so much.

"Okay make sure you come home by tomorrow you can stay the night"

So after that I walked half running out the door.

So after a few hours of walking to Thomson street I waited outside the deli and while I was waiting this girl came up to me she looked kinda funny,

"hey the names Kayla you wanna come with me?"

"Uh no thanks I'm already waiting for a girl to come and pick me up and anyways you're not my type"

she looked at me and her expression changed really quickly and she pulled me up by the shirt and slapped me in the face,

"you know guys like you are arseholes!"

she stormed off and as she walked off I heard laughing I turned around and guess what yep it was Lauren she was sitting there laughing at me.

"You are really bad at talking to chic's aren't you?" I couldn't help but feel my heart sink because her pearly white smile makes me happy I snapped out of my thoughts, "Uh yeah never really been good at that" I laughed at my little embarrassing moment I had.

"C'mon hop in" she said cheerfully I felt my stomach turn and my heart thump as fast as it could.

So 20 minutes later we arrived at the beach she had already set up some of the stuff and last time I remember she told me we have an hour and a half to set up what ever we are setting up and the whole time is going to be very awkward.

What should I do do I tell her while no one is here or do I wait till we have this moment where she asks to talk to me in private and we talk and laugh and then we lean in to kiss.

"Hey are you still there?" I had snapped out of my thoughts by the sound of Lauren's voice,

"Uh yeah just had a thought that's all" I got up outta the car and we got the stuff outta the car and put it out on the sand she looked up and I tried as hard as hell not to look in her direction "hey can I say that you look totally dressed for the party" she laughed, "you know you don't have to wear the rash vest if you don't want to I mean I know it'll be a bit awkward but you don't have to just thought I'd let you know" she looked down and continued with setting up tables to put the drinks and stuff on.

While setting up the streamers we got tangled and no matter how much I wanted to kiss her I just couldn't bring myself to do it, it was aggravating I was punching myself in the stomach for it.

5:30 The party starts

We were talking because we had set up all the stuff and I was telling Lauren about I was helping my little brother and I was having trouble understanding him and what his love life was like she laughed a lot and we had a great time and we walked along the beach and we sat at some rocks and we spoke for a really long time and we were about to lean in to kiss then one of her friends showed up and she got up and walked over to her and they hugged each other and I felt like my heart got crushed but i pulled myself together and walked over to them,

"Um Lauren who's this is this that guy that..." Lauren put her hand over her friends mouth and smiled awkwardly "Bianca this is Brody, Brody this is Bianca she's been my friend ever since third grade" she laughed and smiled awkwardly again and pulled her friend aside "sorry we need to talk" she walked away and they were talking for like 5-6 minutes then they came back and a lot more people arrived a couple of minutes later.

"Sorry about that my friend's a little weird about other people" she chuckled nervously which I thought was adorable because I have never seen her so nervous before and I wonder what it was she was so nervous about.

"Hey uh... can I talk to you?" Lauren looked at me with a serious look, "uh... sure I mean if it's serious".

Oh my god she's asking to talk to me! In private I can't believe that it's actually happening!

We walked over to where we were before at the rocks. Lauren turned around to face me, " um... well I came here to talk to you about... well uh... I don't really know how to say it..."

"C'mon you know you can..."
