Chapter 3

"What's this?" He asked as if I didn't scream for him to come downstairs.

"I swear you need better emotions but I guess this C.R. guy got your mom."

"Let me see." He snatched it out my hand. I was about to say something but then his face just read pain and anger maybe?

He looked at the page for a good hour or so *I'm just exaggerating* but he just stared at the page then crumpled it up and through it in his fireplace which was on. I thought that was weird but then I remembered oh yea he took his mom.

"Umm who's C.R.?" I asked him curiously but trying not to invade his privacy.

"He's my Uncle."

My mouth dropped wide open to that answer. Why the hell would his uncle come take his mother and to say he would kill her if he didn't give it up. Some type of family he got.

"I think you should go home Alex. I don't want you in my family drama."

"Too late I'm already in it and can't, I don't have my key..." Lie "...and my mom isn't home and neither is my dad." Lie and another lie. Look at me lying away.

"Yes! You're gonna get hurt and I don't want anything to happen to you." Aww he was worried about me. How cute.

"Thanks for the consideration but no you got me here with you now and I'm not leaving until you find your mom." I stood my ground saying that. I felt so good after that.

"Ugh fine but if you get hurt it's not my fault." He said with a frustrated look (which by the way was really cute lol.)

"Mhmm I understand and accept the terms and conditions of this mystery." I said with a smile. When I remembered his mom was taken I put that smile away.

"So what do you wanna do?" I asked just standing there in front of him. Lost.

"Well I know where my uncle lives but I don't know if he went there since it's the obvious place to be at."

While he was talking about possible places where his uncle could be at I heard a beeping sound and I knew from movies all too well what that meant.

I started to look and listen where the sound was coming from.

"What are you looking for Alex?

He obviously need a hearing check if he doesn't here this.

"You don't hear that sound." He finally paid attention and finally heard it....dumbass.

Once we found it I was right. It was a bomb with .05 seconds on it.

Once we read it we ran as fast as possible.

I yelled at Jacob to get his phone and jacket that he left on the table but he was already there before I got done saying get.

He looked back once more to see the house that was about to be in pieces. Where he lived for so long and I could tell he is gonna be in pain about it.

We ran towards the car but decided not to because it was so close to the house so we ran towards the lake next to his house.

As soon as I jumped in I heard him say swim.

And then came the blast of what was his house.

I came up to see that his house was in pieces and was raining on us. We swam farther in the lake which wasn't deep but enough to swim in. I saw his face which was in pain and anger which didn't surprise me. I looked at the car which was ok if there weren't pieces of plywood sticking through the windshield. (Thank god we didn't choose the car....thank god.)

"Are you ok?!" I screamed to Jacob.

"Yeah physically." He returned. He didn't have to finish the rest of his sentence to tell he was in pain mentally and mad as can be.

He swam towards the other side of the lake to some woods and dried off and collected ourselves. That's when I heard him snap. He fell to his knees and screamed hard.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!"

I went to hug him which he decided to fight me on but that caused me to hug him tighter. He kept trying until he started crying immensely until I started to rub his back and his hair. He hugged me back as I said small 'It's gonna be ok's' and 'you're ok's' into his ear. He looked me in my eyes, his hazel eyes being with tinges of blue. They were like specks of perfection.

"Am I really gonna be ok?" He asked so sweetly and innocently I couldn't help but smile.

"As long as I'm here...yes."  

As the seal I leaned into him to kiss him. Slowly but surely he agreed to the seal and kissed me back ever so sweetly. I could taste the salt on his lips from his tears. There were sparks coming between us that I remembered from holding hands and I felt awesome. We parted, looking into each other's eyes.

"Do you promise?"

"Yes. With everything in me. Yes."

We laid on the ground just staring into each other's eyes as =I wiped his tears away from his beautiful face that he had.

"We are gonna be ok." I said with a smile.
