The scent was light not strong, but clean and different, it was a scent I recognized but where?...
Everything was dark but I caught a scent of a Hemingway fragrance candle. I didn't move, just conscience but still deep with in my thoughts, the everlast pitch black of nothing, before falling under deeper and not hearing any sound.
I awoke. Looking around with my eye's I was at Kloe's house. Her room the same, nothing moved or touched and her bed still messed up from waking up I guess it was Kloe's too early of a morning feeling like it was too early to make her bed, to bother making it.
Lingering in the air I could catch a smell of, grilled cheese frying, as tomato soup was boiling on the stove. It smelled delicious!
What was the fragrance I smelled earlier?
As my stomach grumbled and made noises I got up tossing my blankets and sheets, to head toward the kitchen, but stopped in my tracks as I noticed her birthday balloons still floating in the corner of her room with some smaller unopened gifts sitting on her dresser, along with the ones that already looked opened, I was confused for a second but carried on. By the time I got to the kitchen I saw Kloe and her parents getting ready for lunch.
"What time is it?"
Everyone had a face on their face like they seemed surprised I even woke.
"It's lunch time! Duh..."
Kloe teased, but chuckled a small laughed afterwards.
Kloe's parents catching onto the joke and laughed too.
"How are you feeling?"
Kloe's father asked, as Kloe's mother asked another question right after.
"Hungry? We have lunch ready."
"Grilled cheese and tomato soup!"
Kloe's father finished afterwards, as Kloe spoke next.
"Did you sleep okay?"
"I'm fine and starving! Yeah...I kinda figured I could smell it even if I was five miles away and in my sleep!"
We all began to laugh.
"Yeah... I slept okay. Did you all sleep okay?"
"Yeah if it weren't for your snooring!"
Kloe razzeled me as everyone laughed,
"I don't snore...don't you mean your snoring!" we continued to laugh as Kloe's mother added in,
"You should hear your father's!...it will keep you up all night!"
As she continued to chuckle and laugh afterwards. Kloe's father pulled away getting the bowls and plates and started to prepare for everyone's plate.
"Okay...okay...time for lunch, everyone take a seat"
Kloe's father asked, as Kloe's mother grabbed spoons and the drinks.
"I'll be back, I'll go and wash up!"
Letting everyone know before I take my exit to head towards the bathroom.
I closed the door but after locking it inside, my eye's didn't want to let go from the concentration of the door knob. Eventually breaking the stare, I look at the girl in the mirror, her hair a dirty blonde mess, she looked dirty and possibly smelly and had speechless loney hazel eyes that pierced back at me. Her nose also bleed out because the stains remained on her face, other then that you can't tell much.
