Case 2. Blood Bath part 1

_____Luke's pov____

The doorbell rang and I slowly made my way to the door.

"I'm home kid," Rin practically glowed because of getting discharged form the hospital. "Don't tell me you gave that girl my room," he looked down at me.

"No, I gave her the guest one," he nodded and some how found his way to the fridge, grabbing a beer. After plopping onto the couch next to me he handed me a letter "here, Its from your parents," I smiled and took it. I wonder were they are now.

____Luke's Letter___

Dear Luke,

At the moment we have found ourselves studying a temple in South Africa, it's fascinating how many people with psychic abilities are scattered around the world. You're father wants me to ask about the girl Rin called us about, he asked if she was your girlfriend and don't you dare get her pregnant. Just ignore him, you know how he gets sometimes. But I would love to hear more about this girl that Rin thinks might have ESP. Anyway I love you Luke, hope to see you soon.

"What did you tell my mom and dad about Mara," I looked at him and cocked my eye brow.

"Oh nothing really, just that she sees the future, and that you fancy her," He smiled jokingly.

"Haha, very funny, what did you say?"

"Just that she might have ESP." I sighed in relief. Just then I heard a thud in the direction of the shower. After Rin and I shared a quick glance we got up and went to the restroom.

"Mara!" I knocked on the bathroom. After no answer I grabbed a towel and opened the door. Mara lied on the bathroom floor curled up, blood trickling from a fresh cut on her forehead. I wrapped her in the towel, turned off the water and carried her to her room. After setting her in bed and pulling the covers up to her neck, I turned around ready to leave until I felt a hand grab me and make me stop. "Thank you," she said before letting go and falling asleep. She voluntary touched me, Its probably because she just blacked out.

_______Mara's pov______

After I awoke I got up and put some clothes on. What happened? To answer my question I decided to go outside and ask Luke.

"Hey," I said quietly.

"Hey Mara, if your looking for Rin, he took his drunk ass to bed." I plopped on the couch. Then he sat beside me and handed me a mug. "Here, its mint tea, It should help you relax." I took it from him, careful not to touch him.

"Thanks," I smiled before taking a sip.

"Any way Mara, why are you so careful not to touch me?" He asked.

"It's because you're a guy," I said plainly.

"Well you've touched me before, when you pushed me out of the way of the book case and earlier, you grabbed my hand."

"I don't remember grabbing your hand, and I pushed you out of the way because you were going to die," I looked down, trying to remember grabbing his hand.

He smiled at me and put his hand up, this is the first time I've seen him smile "here, If you want, try touching my hand."

I held out my hand reluctantly and was centimeters away from his hand. If I can't do this then I will spend my whole like afraid to be touched. Maybe thats why I meet Luke, so I could get over my emotional trauma. Just then I put my hand to his, tears poured from my eyes. If only I could have been able to do this sooner. Then maybe I could have hugged my dad one last time. "Thank...you," I said between sniffs.

"Now I know you won't be able to touch anyone else any time soon but this is a start." He continued to smile at me as our hands locked together. All that I can remember after that was Me falling asleep after crying for so long.

___Mara's dream____

"Blood, I..." The old man looked my skin and bones and coughed before He could finish the sentence. "Bring... Me the blood," he continued to cough "of the young maid." The two burly men nodded and walked out. Then the scene changed. In a beautiful big house all the lights were off and the moon barely shone through the clouds. They walked down a hall way into a girls room. She was sleeping soundly when one of the men pulled out a white cloth. It's probably Chloroform. The woman awoke from her sleep and let out a muffled scream before being knocked out by the chemical.

"Ah!" my eyes flew open.  My head rested against something hard but warm.

"Before you kill me you're the one that fell asleep on me, and are you ok." I looked up to se that the thing I was resting on was in fact Luke's chest.

My face turned bright red as I sat up on the couch. My eyes were red and puffy from crying. "What a horrible dream," he looked at me.

"What was the dream about?" He asked.

"Nothing important." I looked at him "I'm gonna go to bed, see you in the morning."

"Mara! Get up we have to go to work," I heard Luke nock on my door. I didn't have a nightmare today, this was the best sleep I've had in a wile.

I rolled of my bed and flopped onto the floor. Just then Luke opened the door and tried not to laugh "did you fall on the floor?"

I lifted my face from the floor and looked at him "no, the floor just looked like it needed a hug," I said sarcastically.

"Today is such a slow day," I mumbled to my self.

Monk laughed "if you keep sitting upside down like that your face is gonna turn red. I shrugged and continued to throw the tennis ball at the wall. "Any way kid, shouldn't you be at school," Monk questioned.

"Nope," I said, popping the P "got suspended."

"What did you do?" Josh asked, laughing.

"Josh! This in not a laughing matter," Junko said, lightly slapping Josh's arm.

"Well, apparently I killed someone," I said. Just then there was a knock at the door. "Finally we have a case."

Im breaking this case into 2 parts because it would be REALLY long if I didn't.
