"so are you coming tomorrow night?" genevieve asked, while finishing her stacked up paper work their boss gave her.

ebony shrugged as she fiddled with the blank sticky note that was neatly placed on her desk, "nah i don't think so. i'll just probably stay at home and eat chicken alfredo or something. besides, i'm pretty sure it's gonna be boring."

genevieve suddenly slammed her fists on her desk, getting disturbed and irritated looks from their co-workers.

"look, i understand that you're really stressed out these past few days, hell i am too. but can you please come? it's work related so you can't just skip it," genevieve said as she tried to show a serious face, which failed miserably.

ebony scrunched her face up, knowing that she'll likely drink too much again "but there's gonna be alcohol. i already told you that i stopped a long time ago. i wanna stay on the safe zone this time."

"oh come on bonnie. you need to loosen up for a bit. everyone's gonna have fun! that's why we're going to celebrate, to have fun," genevieve complained, exaggerating the word fun.

ebony gave up and sighed, "fine fine. i don't have a date though."

"don't worry, i'm pretty sure you'll find one. your face is like a guy magnet to be honest," genevieve said, which was partly true because ebony's naturally beautiful after all.

ebony shook her head, denying the fact genevieve said "no i don't think so. all you say are just little white lies gene, and i'm not gonna believe them."

"whatever. just be sure to come tomorrow night," genevieve shook her off, giving her a joking look.

ebony smiled and said, "no promises."

ebony walked back to her work desk, sitting down on the comfortable office chair.

as ebony quickly typed a link in her laptop, she noticed something from the corner of her eyes.

she reached out for it, and saw that it was a picture of her when she was laughing at a joke one of her coworkers said.

looking quite surprised that someone would secretly take a picture of her, she looked at the back of the picture and saw a note that was written in a neat handwriting.

i heard what you said awhile ago. you shouldn't deny a fact. you are altogether beautiful my love; there is no flaw in you.

not knowing who wrote the simple yet meaningful letter, she quickly glanced around her surroundings, hoping to see the mystery person.

but she couldn't find him. all she can see are her fellow employees working on god knows what.

sighing sadly, she gave up knowing that there's no hope in finding him.

but little did she know, was that the mystery person was staring at her from afar, taking in the beauty she has and knowing that he won't get a chance on showing her what true love is really like.

so this is just a sneak peak of what the story will be like. i hope you liked it because this is my first story! tbh, i actually wanted to make a story a long, long, long time ago but i don't know how to make a cover for a living, so i requested @-fivesos to make me one and here it is! i think it's vv beautiful (if you're reading this then i wanna tell you that ilysm and thank you) so go follow her! anywaysss, please vote, comment and add this very book to your library because even though it says "coming soon" in the description, i might update when i feel like it. feedback is highly appreciated!
