"Hey, when you're done with your shift, wanna come back to my apartment?" Luke asked, leaning against a bookshelf.

"No," I stated, pulling out a book that was out of place.

"Well, then it's a sad life for you, because you don't have a choice," he replied, smirking.

"Are you gonna rape me?" I looked at him with a serious expression, my eyebrows raised.

"Haha, no, don't worry." He laughed, his smile growing bigger and his eyes squinting.

I sighed, examining the book in my hands. I was trying to figure out where it belonged. I eventually decided it was classified as science fiction and I walked away from the shelves full of romance novels in which someone had placed the book. Luke followed me, looking like a puppy.

"You'll get to meet my roommate," Luke randomly said as I crammed the book in between two others.

"Oh, yay. Another person to talk to. Such fun," I said sarcastically, my voice monotonous.

"You don't have to worry about him," Luke added, reassurance in his voice. "He's quiet and doesn't talk much."

"That's my kind of person."

"Fuck you, you son of a bitch! I'll shoot your face, yeah, how do you like that shit!?" a red haired boy screamed. He was sitting on the couch in Luke's living room, facing the tv screen which had some violent video game displayed on it.

"Um, so, this is my roommate," Luke mumbled. He put his hand up to his mouth, trapping his laughter.

"What the hell is this? I thought you said he was quiet?" I yelled, waving my arms at the cussing boy sitting in front of me.

"Yeah, but if I told you he was anything but quiet, I knew you wouldn't come," he said, a small, muffled laugh escaping his mouth.

He then walked over to his roommate, sitting down next to him on the couch. He picked up the tv remote, pressing the power button. The screen went black. Luke sat there, looking pleased with himself, while read head looked like he could punch a hole through the wall.

"What the fuck? I almost finished that level!" he shouted, staring at Luke.

"I brought my friend over. She moved in across the hall last week," Luke said, ignoring his roommate's obvious pissed off state.

"It's a girl?" read head asked, suddenly forgetting all about his video game. Luke nodded. "Is she hot?"

"She's behind you," Luke offered, his mouth forming a wide smile.

Red head turned around, looking up at me. I crossed my arms over my chest, raising an eyebrow at him. He gave me a cheesy smile, chuckling.

"Oh. Hi," he said. He got up off the couch and walked around it. He stopped when he was in front of me and held his hand out, waiting for me to shake it. "I'm Michael."

"Skyla," I muttered, ignoring his hand until he awkwardly let it fall to his side. I turned to Luke. "Can I go now?"

"No, come sit." Luke patted the space on the couch next to him.

I groaned and slowly walked over to the couch, throwing my head back in annoyance. I say down next to Luke, a couple inches farther away from him than he intended. Michael sat back down where he was sitting before, joining us.

"I see you enjoy dying your hair strange colors as well," Michael observed, pointing at my hair's blue tips.

"My uncle put blue hair dye in my conditioner," I explained bluntly.
