Chapter 7
Cara's POV
Gigi arrived sooner than expected. I was still applying my makeup. I decided to go light today because, who knows what will happened today. Just thinking about it made me worried more by the second. Gigi decided to honk more than once. It annoyed me to the point that I want to kill her.
"Finally! What are you doing up there?" Gigi said when I walked towards her car. "Relax! I'm trying to calm myself before the meeting," Gigi nodded and drive away. I noticed she was fidgeting while holding the steering wheel. "Do you need me to drive?" I asked her. She just shook her head and refocusing on her driving.
30 minutes later, we arrived at the agency building. Noticing the reporters outside the entrance, we both know its big news. Who would have thought, the famous and successful modeling agency will go bankrupt. I sighed and getting myself ready for the mobbed of reporters outside. "Ready?" Gigi asked me. I just nodded.
Like expected, the reporters swarmed around us when they noticed me. Gigi tried her best to hold off the reporters. Series of questioned being ask. I just ignored everything and continued to the entrance in a faster pace. It's better to stayed quiet rather than talking because they will use it against us in the future. I learned that from the hard way.
Feeling relieved even though panting, I'm glad that we made it inside. Gigi make sure her suit is not wrinkled in any way. I was checking my dress up when I suddenly feel like someone is staring at me. I looked up and saw the blonde goddess.
I was in awe, admiring the beauty in front of me. Her blonde hair, in a neat bun, her makeup was neither heavy nor light that make her hazel eye popped. She wore a very neat black business suit. She dressed rather androgynously. In anyway, she's gorgeous.
Before I get to say hi, Mona decided to walk in and said we have to get ready before the new management representative arrived. I sighed and followed Mona and Gigi towards the elevator. Before I entered, I flashed a smile at her. She still staring at me when I glanced from the elevator door.
"I have a bad feeling about this new management. Hannah didn't tell me anything about it," Mona finally said in the elevator. "That's weird. Hannah usually tells you everything," Gigi said beside me. Mona just shrugged her shoulder and released a long sighed. "Hannah is doomed. Like literally. Even the board of directors didn't know she sold the agency," Gigi just shook her head. We heard a 'Ding' and the elevator door open.
Walking out of the elevator, the ambience is different. Everybody is nervous. Who wouldn't? What if one day you, go to work and suddenly received a call saying the place you work at going to be closed down. Mona asked everyone to wait in the meeting room. Everyone obliged. The only person I didn't see is Vanessa.
Entering the meeting room, I noticed a group of unknown people seated at the other end of the table. This is a huge meeting room. Usually, we used this room for discussing about new projects or fashion show plans. But today, the vibe is different. The usual feeling of being excited to walk for major brand, replaced by the feeling of nervousness.
"Those are the teams from the new management," Mona told Gigi and I. "They look so serious and snobbish like," Gigi whispered to me. I agreed. They do look like a snob. Talking animatedly to each other and doesn't care about their surroundings. I looked at Hannah, the former CEO. She looked rather normal. Not even a slight nervousness.
Suddenly, the meeting room door swing opened, showing a very muscular guy, with black sunglasses, holding the door for whoever going to enter the room. And then, there she was, the person who invaded my mind since yesterday, holding hands with Vanessa, smiling to each other. I felt a slight jealousy washed over me.
