It had been calm. Horribly calm. Like, before some devastating tornado. Only, the tornado wasn't coming.
Dean had expected Sam to come back drunk or late, or both. He had expected a punch, a talk or another fight.
But Sam had come back just an hour later, with some food and stuff. And acted like nothing had happend. Like Dean hadn't told him that he didn't choose him as his brother.
It freaked Dean out. The meaning of that line was something that he wouldn't imagine in his worst nightmares. But he was angry. How could Sam ask this to him? Cas wasn't his blood. It didn't matter what he thaught.
But Sam asking him made him bleed. So he wanted to let it out.But it had been a week and the chance didn't come. Sam acted more than normal. They researched on the case Dean had found that morning, worked the case and burnt the windigo. It had been a tough case. Dean got beat up pretty bad.
And Sam didn't panic. He didn't try to manhandle Dean into care. Didn't force him to rest. And it hurt Dean. Didn't Sam know his brother? Didn't he know everything Dean did was for him? Why didn't he try to return the favour?
Dean was sprawled out on the couch, drowning himself in his self-loath.
"I'm going out." Sam's voice came suddenly.
"Sammy, we need to talk."
"About what?" Sam raised his brows.
"You know what." Dean said sitting up. 'Shit' he thaught as the cut on his leg stung.
"No, we aren't talking about that." Sam said.
"Sammy, I didn't....""Since when are you interested in chick-flicks?" Sam said lightly with a smile that didn't reach his eyes or dimples."Since I fucked up okay?" Damn Sam. He was the one who always pushed on having soap-oprah moments. And now he wasn't interested. Like it wasn't difficult enough for Dean to talk.
"You didn't fuck up Dean. I did. You're right. It wasn't your choice."
This was not going the right direction. So, Dean tried to take control.
"Sam, look man, l'm sorry. I didn't mean it. I was drunk and tired and pissed off at the feathered ass. And I acted like a cowerd.""No you didn't. For once you said the truth. You didn't choose to be my father and mother and brother and everything else. You were four. It couldn't have been your choice. I'm sorry, Dean. For everything. And if you didn't mean it, than you should." Sam's voice was matter-of-fact, but his face was pained.
"Sammy..." Dean pleaded, closing his eyes. He never wanted to hear these from his brother. The brother that was his everything.
Something broke inside him. And he lost it again. How dare he say that.? How could he ignore everything they had for just one stupid comment?
"You know what? Get out." His candy green eyes went dark with fury and hurt and betrayal. And suddenly he couldn't bare to look at Sam. So he turned his face away.
And Sam left.
Well, there goes nothing.

"We're bound Dean. You wore the mark. I am the original mark." Amara said looking at him in the eye.
"We can be so much together." Her sweet voice seemed like venom and addiction. And Dean couldn't move or look away.
"Your problem's with God, right? Why are you killing humans?" Dean asked.
"I tried the other ways, he didn't show."She stepped closer to him. And told him about how good they will be together, how much life would be easier with no god around. And asked him to come with her.
"Not happening." Dean said.
"Why? Because of your brother? He ain't worth it. You desreve better Dean. And he is going away anyway." And she kissed him.
Everything was a blur after that. The angels, the fight, Amara saying something to him about something horrible coming for Sam soon. His mind was in a haze. What was very clear to him was that he had absolutely no idea what was happening to him.
One moment, he was standing at a zero point, another moment he was back at the park. Kids were playing and chirping, people were happy. They had no idea that the world was almost coming to an end.
"Sir, your burger." The stallman called. 'I need to get to Sam, I need to get to him fast.' Dean thought. He started to jog towards his baby. He needed to explain to Sam that it was Amara that created all this fuss between them. That she had him under her influence. And that he needed to stay safe and stay with him.
