(Above - Blake Daryl - Gianluca Albonico)
Blake tossed and turned for the umpteenth time that night. He was sure he had turned his pillow over to the cold side at least thirty times and, with the night slowly fading into morning; he gave up. If he had to roll over onto his back one more time, he would throw something.
'Not you though,' he whispered to his stuffed bunny. 'I'd never throw you.'
Sitting up in bed, Blake stretched, lifting his arms high over his head, and bending forward to touch his toes. Once he knew he wouldn't sleep again, he felt his crawling energy speed back to him in spades. Ignoring his soft slippers laying nearby, Blake put on a pair of grippy socks, knowing that otherwise, someone might overhear him if he flapped around the house with noisy footwear.
His mother had designed their house before he had been born, and there were six levels in total. Blake always thought it was too many, but it came in handy over the course of him and the twins growing up. They shared the third floor, which was nice, as they had a huge bathroom that had a tub the size of a mini swimming pool. It was meant to swim laps, but when it turned off, it switched into a jacuzzi, and on many nights before he had shared this delightful room with both Toby, Sebby, and his numerous friends.
The fourth floor was reserved for guests that weren't related to the family, and the second his parents occupied. The two adults had a master bathroom that was even more sophisticated than the kids, though there was no swimming pool.
After much persuasion, he and Tobias had convinced their parents to install a game room on the unused fifth floor. Sebastien had said it wasn't necessary, but then proceeded to use it almost more than he and Toby.
Many of his friends mentioned how spoiled the boys were, though he always waved the words away, letting it fall upon deaf ears. Such things didn't bother Blake.
The sixth, and his current destination, belonged to that of a butler. The family butler, to be precise, and Blake's current love interest. Though he never said as much to the lad.
Blake crept up the stairs, though he doubted anyone would hear him except maybe the butler himself, whose ears could hear things that most couldn't. He was probably a secret ninja or something.
Surprisingly, Tom wasn't at the stairs waiting for him, as he usually was when Blake made his nightly visits. Had something happened to make him change his mind? Was he uninterested in Blake now?
Uncertainly, Blake tiptoed to Tom's door and knocked. There was no welcoming call for him to enter, and with even more trepidation, Blake knocked a second time. When there was still no answer, the young teen opened the door that thankfully didn't creak on its hinges.
'Tom...' He whispered, seeing the boy on the bed. Without waiting for permission, Blake crawled into the older boy's bed, tumbling over the mass in the dark. The other turned to look at the newcomer and pulled him close, wrapping his arms around the Blake.
'I heard you coming,' Tom said, laying flat on his back, pulling Blake completely on top of him.
They spoke little, but unlike his usual giddiness, Blake felt unwanted, despite their position, as Tom hadn't met him like usual. It was after a few moments that Blake finally understood why.
'You're going to leave for three months.' Came the quiet voice of Tom, mixed with the possessive tightening of his arms around Blake.
'Is that why you didn't meet me today?' Blake asked, trying to keep the hurt out of his voice.
'Yes.' the response was short, tight, and slightly resentful.
Blake sighed unhappily, pressing his face into the other's solid chest.
