Closing the door, Daemon walked over to the table and set the package down, sitting in the chair, he quietly opened the letter and began to read it. Looking at his face, he seemed aggravated by the contents in the letter. Standing up, I silently walked over to him and stood behind him. Leaning over his shoulder, I began to read the letter. Before I even read through half of the first sentence, Daemon folded it up and stood up. He seemingly didn’t want me to read it. Crossing my arms, I looked up at him.
“Can I not read it?” Attempting to reach for the letter, he held it up out of my reach and looked down at me, smiling sweetly.
“Sorry, but you already know what’s on it. You just don’t know that you know. You choose not to believe it.” Gently patting my head, he put the letter in his pocket and started to stroll over to the dresser on the other side of the room.
Following him, I sat on top of the dresser, “What exactly is it that I apparently know?” looking at him, I attempted to smooth out my torn up and ragged looking silk dress. I definitely wasn’t fit to wear a dress. Moving in front of me, he looked me up and down, amused by how dirty I looked.
“You look more like a gutter rat than I do,” opening a drawer, he dug through it for something I could change into. Not finding anything, he shut it, “you should take that off. It looks rather uncomfortable.”
Glancing off to the side, I wasn’t sure what to say. I barely even knew him despite him being so damn attractive. “Well, I will. But I’ll be changing straight away.” Smiling, I slid off of the dresser and headed towards the door. I could feel his eyes on me, but I just brushed it off. “Even if I look like a gutter rat, I’ll always look better than you.” Laughing, he watched me walk out of the room and close the door behind myself. Heading over to the tavern’s entrance, I began to wonder if I could trust and work with Daemon. He was a rogue, and he was notorious for many things. Murder, adultery, illegal possession of liquor, kidnapping, trespassing on royal ground, robbing local banks, rape, gambling and blackmailing those of royal families. He was wanted for so much. As far as I know, the bounty on his head was £67,000,000.
Walking down the street, I looked at all the stalls that were beginning to close. I needed to find something to change into. Shoving my hand in my pocket, I pulled out £20. Sighing, I wandered around for a while before coming to a stop. I had found a little shop, still open that had dresses, trousers, shirts, everything. Walking inside, I gawked at the things I couldn’t afford. I started to wish that I had grabbed my brother’s money. He normally kept some in a small chest under his desk. Walking up to the counter, I looked at the old woman that stood behind it, reading the daily paper. She had sallow skin, shoulder length, gold hair, and eyes the color of a wild wolf's. She was short in height, maybe 5’2” and always seemed to be smiling. She was smiling even as she read the paper.
Looking up at me, she smiled a toothy smile. “How may I help you?”
Smiling back, I set my £20 on the counter. “I need new clothing… What can I buy with twenty?” Looking around, I waited for her to answer me.
“Well, let’s see here…” picking up the £20, she gestured to the back. “Please, this way.” Watching her walk into the back, I followed her. Rogue’s clothing? No? This all looked similar to the things that Daemon had had on. Grabbing a skirt, jacket and leather boots the woman handed me the things. “Here you go. Please come back whenever you like.” Nodding, I thanked her and left with the clothes I had just bought. Heading back to the inn where Daemon was, I began to ponder on if I could really trust him or not. I had just met him and didn't even really know him at all. It kind of scared me to think of what could happen if I began to trust him too early. He was a rogue after all, and was a pretty slippery bastard. Reaching the inn, I wandered inside and headed back to the room I was in earlier with Daemon. Walking in, I wandered back into the room and began to change when not seeing Daemon around anywhere. Tossing my clothes on the bed, I finished changing into the ones that I bought, only to hear the door open and to see my new friend walk in.
