Chapter 9

Riley's POV
Where about to walk into Topangas's when Athena started crying.
"Lucas go on in while I calm her down."
"I'll come out here and get you okay."
"Okay I'll be back out in a minute." He walks in and I sit and think will they want me back or not.
Lucas POV
I walked in and everyone was having a good time.
"Hey, huckleberry how are ya." Ask Maya
"I'm great today has been really good."
"Lucas what did you get me?"
"It's outside I'll go get it okay." Let me be honest I forgot to get him a gift I was going to give him $20 but hey this is better. I walk outside to get Riley. I see her putting Athena back in the stroller.
"You ready." I asked
"Yeah let's go." I started to open the door. I walked in first and I told Riley to stay there and I'll open the door when there ready.
"What is it?"
"Okay 1,2,3" I opened the door and there mouths dropped.
"Riley is it really you?" Auggie questioned she walked around the stroller and said "Yes it's really me." He ran and hugged her.
Riley's POV
"I missed you Auggs."
"I missed you too." I put him down and Maya came out of nowhere and hugged me.
"Riles where have you been. I missed you so much."
"Same here."
"Come over here we all want to catch up." We all set down and asking questions.
"So Riley" Then Mom was interrupted by Aurora crying.
"Hold that thought." I went and pick her up. I set down knowing she's hungry but I can't do it right know. I put the binkiy in her mouth but she spit it out crying.
"Excuse me please." I say I walk over to the stroller and grab a blanket. I go sit in the back of Topangas's and start to feeding her when mom walked back.
"Riley?"
"Yeah."
"Is this why you left? We would of help you know that."
"It's part of the reason."
"Why don't you come back in there where all family?" I get up and start getting up when she unlatches herself and starts crying. I stop and fix my bra and shirt. Then Athena started crying and Lucas went and grabbed her. I set by Lucas and my mom asked "There's two."
"Yeah."
"What's there names?" Asked Maya
"Well I got Aurora Faith and Lucas has Athena May."
"Well there adorable Riley." Said Dad
"Where were you all this time?" Ask dad
"In a apartment on the other side of New York. I started school there but you see I got put on bed rest for a month and they have a day care for the students. I would go out a few times during the day to eat or relax. I had a job and got put on maturity leave. I was doing really well I was happy but I was still missing something or someone."
"Lucas how did you find her?" Asked my mom
"I was walking in Central Park when I saw her drop her passie on the ground I picked it up and I looked at her. And realized it was Riley. Then I hugged her and then we got to the part of her telling me I'm a father.."
"Wait your the reason my daughter ran away. You got her knocked up and she left."
"Dad it's not his fault completely. So let's drop this and get back to Auggies birthday." After Auggies party I went to Lucas's house he wanted me to stay with he because he didn't want to miss a thing but it's only been 2 days. We're sitting in bed wondering if I should tell him Athena has Down syndrome.
"Lucas I need to tell you something."
"Okay what is it Riley?"
"Are daughter has Down syndrome."
"Both?"
"No just Athena. And I understand if you want to leave it's a lot to handle and most people are embarrassed by a kid with Down Syndrome. And I'll never leave my daughter."
"Riley I just found you again I can't lose you. Who cares if she does. I've told anybody this but before we moved here I had a 10 year old sister with Down Syndrome. She was the best sister you could asked for. She was the nicest sweetest person I knew. And she passed away but I'll always love her."
"Lucas I didn't know."
"I know you didn't."
"What was her name?"
"Her name was May-Belle."
"Well Athen's middle name is May."
"I know."
"Do you think Farkle would know about it and give us tips on how to raise a child with it?"
"I bet he can but first we invite everyone over and tell them." Then the girls started crying. Lucas picked up Athena while I picked up Aurora and he said "You know they look exactly alike expect Athena a bit bigger."
"I know."
"She looks like May. May had blonde hair and chubby cheeks and was a chunky baby." The rest of night went by smoothly and had a good nights rest.
