Promise Me This Is Forever

Chapter 2

*Damon POV*

I was sitting there listening to Elena's conversation and I heard everything Stefan said. I then hear Elena drop her phone. I look over at her and see that see is completely frozen in her position.

"Elena...."no response "ELENA" no response. I was starting to get scared. I have only seen her like this one other time and that was when she got the news about her parents. I knew that she was going to break down any second so I sped down the road to a hotel and quickly signed in and carried her and our two bags up to the room. I sat her down and started to shake her. She didn't move. Elena please look at me. I thought to myself.

"El.." was all I was able to say before she was bawling and I knew that it was bad. I knew I would never leave her alone at any point ever even if she was going to go and go to the bathroom I would never leave her.

"I'm not going to leave you Elena. I will always protect you. He won't get you. I promise you."

"What if you are not with me."

"I won't leave your side. Ok. But if he does try to come after you then I will kill him. Ok."

*Elena POV*

I was just sitting there listening to Damon. Did he actually say that to me. I think he did. OMG he likes me. I have always had feelings for him but I always thought that he wouldn't protect me.

"Damon... did I hear you talking to me while I had my eyes closed in the car. "

"Umm yea... why"

"I feel the same way."

"Really."

"...yea..."

"Ok we will talk about this later but you need some sleep you have a long day today but one more question. What did Stefan do that made him freak out and try and well you know...?"

"He feed on and killed my mother Isobel."

"Ok time to sleep now. Good night Elena I will be right here next to you."

"Thank you."

"You're welcome."

I then dozed off into a nightmare.

I was awaken with Damon shaking me and when I sat up he held me and I just kept crying. All I remember is that I was in a dark room and all I saw was Stefans face and he kept saying I found you and now you will never leave me.

"It's ok Elena you are safe I'm here. Please stop crying he isn't here. I got you. You're ok."

"What happened?"

"You were screaming in your sleep. What were you dreaming about."

"I was in a dark room and I was tied down and all I saw was his face and he kept saying I found you and now you will never leave. Over and over again. He wanted to hurt me."

"He won't get you I promise you that. Are you ok."

"Yeah I'm ok I just won't be able to go back to sleep anymore. I hate him."

"Elena will you do me something?"

"Yeah Damon"

"Can you admit something....Can you admit that you do have feelings."

"Damon.....I do its just I never wanted to admit it because I thought...I thought that you would hurt me. So I forced myself to be with Stefan."

"I would never ever hurt you. That's something I can promise you. You will never ever be hurt by me and I will do everything in my power to make sure that you will never be hurt."

"Damon will you do me a favor."

"Of course."

"Can you change me into a vampire."

"Elena I don't know. I will but you have to be 100% sure because once I do you cannot go back."

"I'm sure. I need to be able to protect myself."
