Percy

Percy watched as the robed figures stood apprehensively around a train station. In their hands they were holding...no wait that can't be right...onto what looked like sticks. Percy was sure it was just a few mortal teenagers playing a joke or something when, suddenly, the dream ended.

Then, with a start, Percy realized that he had promised his girlfriend, Annabeth, that he would meet her approximately twenty-five minutes ago. As fast as he could, he scrambled out of his cabin to where he was to meet her.

Percy may have dealt with all kinds of monsters but none of them scared him as much as Annabeth when she was mad. So when he saw her fuming face greeting him as he ran to the dining pavilion he would have liked nothing more than to borrow her Yankee's invisibility cap and disappear.

"WHERE. HAVE. YOU. BEEN?" Annabeth fumed clearly punctuating each word.

"I...I was...I had..." Percy stammered unable to come up with a good excuse and realizing defeat he settled for "sorry I'm late."

"I've been waiting here for half an hour," Annabeth muttered, "you are going to pay." With that she drew her dagger.

Percy took that as a cue to run. "Help me!" he screamed as he ran through the camp. All the older campers just gave him amused looks as they watched a fuming Annabeth run after him while the new campers just looked terrified thinking that something bad had happened.

Finally, Percy reached his destination: the lake. He knew Annabeth wouldn't stand a chance against him if he had water on his side. As Annabeth approached him, her gray eyes stormier than ever, he realized that they had a crowd. A group of campers had encircled around them.

"What? You can only win if you have water on your side?" Annabeth taunted Percy. That got him mad.

"Watch what you say Wise girl," Percy smirked as Annabeth got dosed in water. The whole crowd gasped knowing how angry Annabeth could be.

Annabeth charged at Percy with her dagger held in front of her. She caught Percy by surprise, and in a few swift movements, she had Percy pinned down with her dagger at his throat. Their audience broke into applause while Percy muttered an apology.

"What was that?'" Annabeth asked innocently.

"Sorry Annabeth," Percy said sheepishly.

Annabeth just gave an amused laugh as he let him go as Percy, her, and the rest of the campers headed of for the day's activities.

~~~~~
Percy's blood rushed with adrenaline as he stood next to Annabeth ready to lead his team to victory in the game of Capture the Flag. Just as Percy was about to charge, Chiron trotted over which was very unusual.
"Percy, Annabeth, this game will continue without you. I would like you to follow me." then, ignoring the confused expressions Percy and Annabeth gave him, he trotted of.
"After you, Wise girl," Percy said and followed a very confused Annabeth.
After they were out of the earshot of other campers, Chiron said in an urgent whisper, "Rachel came to visit, and she says she would like to speak with the two of you."
Percy didn't understand why Chiron made this so secretive but he figured it must be about something really important. And so, after Chiron's announcement to them, they walked to the big house in silence.
As they made their way to the big house, Percy found Rachel, aka the Oracle of Delphi standing on the front porch. Her eyes seemed sad and deep in thought even though she greeted Percy and Annabeth with a huge smile.
"What's up?" Percy asked. The smile melted of Rachel's face.
"It will be best if we talk inside," Rachel said, peering around nervously as if she expected someone to pop out from behind a bush and yell 'I caught you!'
~~~~~

Soon, the four of them were situated inside the Big House. "Guys, I have something really important to tell you." Rachel said, getting right to the point. "I've been having dreams of...strange mortals." she said putting an emphasis on the words strange and mortals. Percy internally gasped, were they having the same dreams?

"Did the mortals in your dream by any chance be carrying sticks and wearing robes?" Percy asked hopefully.

"Yes, but how did you--" She never got a chance to finish her sentence. Rachel fell over for a second before standing straight up with her eyes glowing a serpent green color. She spoke in a raspy voice:

"Two sides must be united once more

They must heal wounds left by war

For a common goal must be achieved

And the key to peace must be retrieved"

Before Rachel could collapse, however, Percy and Annabeth caught her and set her down in a chair. "What two sides is the prophecy--" Percy faltered when he saw Chiron. He was a deathly pale.

"There is another world and I have known of its existence for a long time, but a certain goddess has made me swear by the River Styx not to tell anyone about it. I am sorry, but I cannot be of any help in this quest." Percy and Annabeth stared in disbelief and horror at the centaur as he walked out of the room.

Then realizing something had to be done with or without the centaurs help, Percy turned to Rachel and recited the prophecy to her as she did not remember what she had said. Rachel shook her head in disbelief, "I am almost certain that this other side won't be gods, demigods, or mortals. But what I don't know is who they actually are."

"That would be why I came here." said a mystical voice.
