Becca's POV

I went to the melee weapons chest to grab a sword. I stopped when I thought about my arm.

Can I even still fight melee?

Maybe you should spar with Nick.

Yeah.

I pulled 2 katanas from the chest and walked over to Nick. He had finished explaining my situation to Jin, who had gone to the Misc. chest for something.

Nick turned to me and glanced at the swords. "What's up?"

I pulled up the sleeve on my right arm and showed the bite to Nick. The teeth marks were still visible, and the skin was a bit puffy and red. It ached, but it didn't hurt, for obvious reasons.

Nick studied it for a bit. "So that's where you got bit? Your melee arm?" I nodded and handed him a katana. Without waiting for a reaction, I grabbed his free hand and pulled him to the oval office.

I stopped in the middle of the room and turned to Nick. He had his confused face.

I rolled my eyes and got into attack stance, my katana tight in my right hand.

Understanding appeared on Nick's face. Without a word, he also got into an attack stance.

"Ready?" I nodded.

"Go!" He launched at me, attempting to hit my left side. I swung my katana to my left, blocking it. I jumped back swiftly, causing Nick to stumble a bit. I let him regain his balance before swiping at his right side. He blocked it and spun his katana around mine, causing me to wince and lose my grip. The katana flew to the right and hit the wall with a bang. Nick put his katana under my chin. "I win."

I smirked.

Not yet you haven't.

I fell backwards and rolled to my left, away from my weapon. I jumped up and looked around the room for anything within reach. There was nothing.

Nick and I waltzed back and forth. Anytime I tried to get by, he blocked me off. "You can stop at anytime." He reminded me.

No. I need to refresh my muscle memory on my right arm. It's achy, but I can ignore that.

I shook my head and eyed the doorway to the office. Shark and Ghetto were watching me with slightly amused faces.

What if you rushed the right and swiftly turned left?

That might work.

I looked at my katana, which was lying horizontal to the wall about 6 feet behind Nick.

I rushed to the right, catching Nick slightly off guard. He thrust his sword in front of me. He expected me to stop and jump back. Instead, I took a hard left around Nick and dove for my sword. I grabbed it with my right hand and jumped up, ready to fight.

Nick raised an eyebrow. "Nice move, but we ain't done yet." He swung at me, attempting to disarm me. I blocked it and spun my katana around his, causing him to lose his grip. Instead of whacking it in a random direction, I flicked it up and towards me. I caught it neatly in my left hand. I crossed the swords over Nick's neck like scissors. I smirked as he stared at the swords and me, not daring to move. "Heh, I think you'll do fine in melee." He stated.

I smiled warmly and backed off, tossing Nick's katana to the ground.

Ok...so we know you're doing fine in melee.

I don't know what that was. That just kinda happened. Heh.

Ghetto and Shark were clapping. I raked my hand through my hair and started putting my katana on my side.
