Illiusions

I walked along the shoreline, lost in all the beauty around me. Waves rose and fell for as far as the eye could see. An albatross soared in the distance, wings outstretched as if to hug the limitless sky. I kicked off my flip flops and smiled as the waves swirled around me. I was confused at the emotions and desires that surged through me, stronger than any song I've ever written. It was a deep longing that came from the very depths of my soul. My jumbled emotions all cried the same thing, to become one with the cerulean blue depths that called my name. The waves crashed on the shore and receded into the sea as if begging me to come with them. I gazed at the silver waves tinged pink with the setting sun, What lies out there?  As if to answer, a splash far out near the horizon caught my eye along with the silver gleam of a tail. I caught my breath in wonder and surprise. It was just an illusion, right? Or was it?
