"Daddy, daddy!" I shrieked, shaking my father awake.
It was currently '7:13 AM', Everyone was asleep. Except for me of course. Being that jumpy, and imaginative child I am, waking up is as easy as eating cake. I love cake.
"Wake up daddy! Show me your invenjen!" I attempted at pronouncing the word 'invention'.
"Give daddy a few more minutes, sweetie." My dad yawned, rolling over.
I crossed my arms, and slid down the wall like an egg yolk.
"But I wanna see it now!" I whined, pouting. There was a long pause, and I was sure my dad was asleep. But since when did that stop me? I waddled away in my princess pyjama's, and made my way to my dad's office. It was locked.
"Darn it.." I muttered under my breath.
I glanced back into my mommy, and daddy's bedroom, noticing they were still fast asleep. I sighed, and trudged towards the door. I eyed the rather tall piece of wood with wonder. Living the life I was blessed with, I barely ever stepped outside. I was homeschooled, and only went outside from 11:00-12:00 PM--that is, on rare occasions. My parents have something against me going outside. They think that it is dangerous, and that a girl my age should not go. But it is stupid! I should be able to explore the world whenever I want.
Rage took over me, as I grabbed a chair, and dragged it towards the door. I hauled my tiny figure onto it, and stood up, gripping the knob--then a thought came over me. What if my parents have a reason for me staying inside. Maybe it actually is dangerous.. I paused. No, I want to see what is out there without a filter. A cold sweat covered my hands as I turned the knob, and pushed the door. I stumbled forward, feeling my face connect with the... grass? I must have forgot.
I pushed myself up, adjusting my eyes to the bright light of the rising sun. Once I could see, I forgot to breath--reason being that the scenery took my breath away. There were tall buildings lined up on the sides, with clear roads and the occasional car, or biker. An orange tint covered the buildings, resulting in a solid shadow behind it. The best part was, dotted on different areas of the horizon, lied massive balls of life. The took up so much space, and seemed to guard the ball of plasma we call the sun.
I stood there, staring at the wonderful place I call home. And then it happened. They seemed to come from the nearest planet to us. Yuio. The spheres were tiny dots at first, like stars, but then they seemed to get bigger. They grew until you could see the tiny details--and that was when I knew, they were coming for us. I took a step back, one after another as the spheres blocked out the sun. In a blink of an eye--my eye--a large shadow engulfed us. I looked from left, to right, "noticing the light slowly disappear as the craft came closer, and closer to us.
And then a shriek, louder than my own, but not as unique as a human's, filled our neighbourhood. "Attention, citizens." I jumped, and stumbled into my father. "Please stay calm, and find shelter. We are under attack." My father's strong hand, pulled me inside, and shut the door. My mother barricaded our windows, preventing the glass to break. "3121." I heard my father say. I turned around to see a small, white robot. It was just about my height, but a little bit chubbier. "3121, I want you to--" My father was cut off as an object as large as 3121 broke through the roof. Everything seemed to go in slow motion after that. My father's mouth seemed to rush out the last of his command before the object hit the floor. It exploded.
That is what it was. An explosion. A grenade--the only part about it was that it was bigger--and that means that it was worse. Bigger, nastier, crueler. Before the flames could hit me, 3121 shielded me with something. I don't know what it was, but it was transparent, and made a pattern similar to a honeycomb when something hit it. Whatever it was disappeared as I ran to my parents. My father's arm laid on top of my mothers fragile body, they laid there.. Motionless.
"Mommy? Daddy?" I asked, kneeling down before them.
"Mommy! Daddy!" I exclaimed, shaking them.
"Wake up!" I screamed, tears streaming down my face.
"21!" I yelled, unable to pronounce the number.
The robot, approached me, and stood there silently as if it was trying to comfort me.
'H-hope." I whimpered.
The tiny robot looked around, wondering who I was talking to, or if I was even talking to someone. "Hope." I looked at the tiny robot.
"Are you talking to me?" The robot asked in his moderate toned voice.
"Yes." I replied, my eyes full with grief.
"You are Hope. You are my saving grace." My voice shook, as I mourned my parents once more, my emotionless face turning sticky with my tears.
