UNTOLD TRUTHS
:: i, welcome to storybrooke

It was another day in Storybrooke. Everything was as it seemed, everyone was in perfect sync and Mayor Mills couldn't be happier. She had a big smile plastered across her face as she walked the sidewalks greeting people on her way to the office.

Of of course she overheard an argument between granny and Ruby. Then to her left was archie with his dog as he said hello to the mayor. After their brief greeting, she bumped into one of storybrooke's likable teachers, Ms. Blanchard. It was anything but nice. Regina was quite annoyed, for reasons Ms. Blanchard being Snow White and now her pantsuit had a coffee stain that she knew she couldn't get out. But that tight tension soon collapsed when Mr. Lakes joined in.

"Oh no— what happened here?" He approached the two young women.

"Nothing a little bleach won't fix." Regina gave him a light smile as Mary-Margaret continued to pick her things up.

"Madame Mayor, I don't think that would do the trick." He examined the stain, walking a bit closer to regina.

"And what would you propose?" She looked him dead in the eyes.

He shifted a bit in his stance, "Depends on your supplies."

Regina lightly chuckled, "I guess you'll have to pay me a visit."

"Won't I?" A slight smirk came upon a his lips.

As the conversation quieted down, Mary-Margaret cleared her throat as she should back up. Soon Bryan and Regina parted ways. She continued to her office and he walked to the school with Ms. Blanchard.

Sure, you can say regina and Bryan might have chemistry but deep down, there's nothing there. It was just harmless flirting. Regina was already fooling around with somebody and Bryan, his eyes were set on Ms. Blanchard. He's good at many things but reading people isn't one of them. Which is why he thought he would flirt a little with the mayor to make Mary jealous a bit. He wasn't sure it worked and he also wasn't sure if Regina was actually expecting him later.

As soon as they walked into the school, that's when they both headed to their separate classrooms. Mary taught English while Bryan taught math. It was simple multiplication, two step. The day was going by smoothly, nothing to maybe ruin the day.

But what nobody noticed under their nose was Henry Mills. He managed to steal Mary-Margaret's credit card and hop a bus all to go find a woman who gave him up ten years ago and that woman was Emma Swan who lived all the way in Boston.

Henry rode the elevator up to the level where Emma was staying on. It was a cold night in Boston, specifically it was Emma's twenty-eighth birthday. He had no knowledge of that when he approached her door and then lightly knocked on it.

His little eyes wandering around the door as he waited for his biological mother to answer. He did have something carrying with them though. That was a book filled with fairytales called Once Upon A Time. He brought it everywhere he went, it brought him comfort for when he needed it. Soon enough the door was swung open and there stood Emma with a confused expression on her face.

"Uh, who are you?" She looked down at the boy in front of her.

"I'm Henry. Your son."

"I don't have a son." She lied.

"That's a lie." He walked into her apartment, "So, you didn't give up a kid ten years ago?" He was quite the little detective.

"How'd you get here, kid?" Emma closed her front door.

"Two busses and a train." He replied, taking a sip of water that Emma so graciously poured for him.

"Where are you from?" She continued to interrogate him.

He placed the glass down, "Storybrooke Maine."

Emma was taken aback by the name. It didn't almost sound real. So she then picked up her jacket and got the kid out the door. At first he protested but eventually went along. As she drove them there, he began to tell her about the book and what it carries. She just thought it was childish nonsense but she didn't say it out loud considering he was only ten and that's a fragile age.

They continued on in Emma's yellow bug and within maybe four hours or less, Emma crossed the Storybrooke entryway. As she drove in, there was a sign that read Welcome to Storybrooke.

It was pitch black as she slowly drove the streets. She turned into a neighborhood and began driving pass the houses. As she drove, she turned to Henry.

"Which one is yours?"

"Please don't take me back." Henry pleaded, "She hates me. She doesn't love me."

Emma continued driving, "You're mom? I'm sure that's not true."

Henry just sighed, looking out the window. Once he saw his house, he lightly knocked on the glass signaling that this was his place. Emma pulled up next to it, stopping the car. She turned the car off then began to get out. As she got out, she was really surprised at Henry's living place. Her eyes were widen of how big it was.

"You live here?" She asked the ten year old who was getting out the car, her tone a little surprised.

"Yeah . ." Henry sighed as he shut the door, "She's the mayor."

"You're the mayor's kid!" Emma exclaimed as she walked around the car to began to head to the door, "Jeez."

Once the two reached the door, Henry rang the doorbell. Soon enough, there were voices heard on the other side and then footsteps getting closer and closer to the door. Soon enough, it opened and there stood one of Henry's teachers, Bryan Lakes.

"Oh— Henry!"

"Mr. Lake?" Henry gave him a confused expression.
